Well... Tales from my day... I went into town to get fuel for the Cummins and on my way back home I desided to stop at the local rest area for a pits stop. Well I got out of the truck and notice a older indian gentleman sitting at a table making fishing nets and said "Hello". Then went on about my business... Then walked back out and he asked " Are you local?" I replied "Yeah..." in a kind of confused tohught... He ask what I did for work... I told him that I'm a diesel tech and computer tech... His eyes got bright! He's replies "I got a job for you..." The job... 1996 Chevy S10 pickup - Overheating and coolant leak. I ran home got my tools and headed back... Before I lef…

Getting tired of my questions yet? lolSo this xp computer won't get past the loading bar part, until the bar has gone past 25 times. I have disabled every single service and program to the point I have to reactivate windows, but it still took 25 times. The hard drive light doesn't do anything till the last 5 rounds. So do you know how to get the computer to kick the hard drive as hard as it can?

I never took it in HS and never really wanted to take it but my sister is almost done with HS and she pretty well forced me into taking it the same time she did. I screwed up on the first 3 parts.English I started writing the answers in the book because I spent to much time going back and forth between book and answer sheet, so I would get a page done and then transfer all my answers, she called time when I was just about to transfer my last 10 answers :banghead: Math I got mad at a question and wanted to figure it out since it kinda pertained to my big spreadsheet on diesel engines, spent all my time on that one so I didn't even look at 10 questions, so they were blank…

Kids moving again. Wife used the truck & actually fueled it before bringing it home! (I've been stressing about not letting the fuel get low, which I'm convinced is harder on the lift pump.) She actually loaded the TCW3 "D. fuel additive" premeasured in a quart bottle in the door pocket... Just when you think there's no hope... RPS. Original yellow TCW3 oil bottles are now marked as above with marker.

Times are tough right now, many of my friends and family are without work. My job is no different. Recently we had a huge turnover in management staff. Luckily the new manager I have isn't bad at all. One of my previous managers took on a new job and was desperate for help so I took a job there as needed in the morning. Figured I liked them as a person and didn't want to leave them hanging. Scratch someones back and they will scratch yours right? I was putting in two days a week since I work in the evening at my primary job also it was a fairly large load with a newborn and three year old at home. Till today. My phone started going off at work and I saw it was my…

So I picked up a Toshiba Satellite L35-S2161 and it turns on, but the screen doesn't. There is no hard drive in it but I guess the guy took that out after it stopped working so he could use it in his xbox. So all I see is the green light on front and the fan for the CPU running, when I turn it on. I plugged a monitor into the VGA on the side to see if I could get anything, still nothing. So what all should I check on this thing? Here's the specs. http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/satellite_L35-S2161.pdf

So I did some digging around to try and round up the specs on the big 3 and was amazed to learn that there is no clear winner at all. Cummins seemed to have it's hayday with the 1st gen's, then powerstroke came on with the 99-02 powerstrokes, now dmax seems to be taking the lead. Now I am not talking reliability or anything, just power specs. I was barely able to come up with the 6.2/6.5 specs, I actually guessed on those a bit from the 983 different ratings I was seeing on 244 different forums. I used all the maximum power specs with all 3, so I used the HO 6spd specs for the 24V.. and ford didn't have a diesel in 1998, thats why theres a break in the line..

Since when did we start saying it is ok for illegal immigrants to trespass on a mans property, kill his livestock, break in to his home, and destroy his property. Then when he uses force to detain them on his property and turns them over the proper law enforcement agency we allow the illegals to sue the man for $32 million dollars. Then turn around and find him not guilty of civil rights violation but force him to pay $73,000 to 4 illegal women because he held them at gunpoint to detain them on his OWN property. Sorry but that is wrong. And quite frankly I think he should have been awarded a medal for doing something, not many others seem to take the initiative. ht…

You guys have it good when it comes to buying parts for our trucks. I have been looking at the Kool-vue tow mirrors for my truck on discount's site, about $68 /each. Then I have to buy they brackets from the dealer at $17 each, then I have to ship them to a friend in Indiana, send them some money or put it in their account and have them ship them to me here in Canada due to the fact discount wont ship to Canada. So I figure i'm looking at about $225-$250 buy the time I pay exchange and all the costs. I called the dealer and they can get me the Mopar aftermarket tow mirror kit for $325 + tax, so i'm looking at shy $400 . Not sure what i'm going to do, I want to save the m…

Last trip to St. Joe State Park to ride dirt bikes, well and the time before that, trailer brakes have stopped working. In the morning some of the lights on the trailer weren't working but magically did when enough things were kicked. So I knew it was kind of a mess under my truck but I didn't even think it was *MY* truck that was the problem, but I stand corrected now. You can see in the first pic, or maybe you cant, but the bigger connector has 3 wires going into it, 1 cut off, then only 1 wire leaving it ( I know it looks like 3). There were about 5 other wires going to nothing, 5 more wires that had been physically split by corrosion (including trailer brake wire)…

Well gang... As of 3:07pm yesterday we lost power to a tree that fell throught the power and phone lines. It remained out for over 14 hours. But also brought forward the fact I need to do some maintenance on my power plant. The batteries are nearly wiped out They would barely hold up for about 1-2 hours with just a few small appliances running. Then after that going out and fighting with the gasoline generator to get it started... :banghead: But all in all we had power till about 9pm and I shut down the genrator. The pelton wheel could hold a refridgerator and freeze for the night. So I need to look into new batteries for the system...

It's been a couple of crazy weeks... My step-son got married... Yeah, the wanted me to be presentable so I need to shop for hard to find in my size clothes that I'll likely never wear (or fit in), again... It went smoothly. They say the band was very good. I could not talk to my sister sitting beside me so they must have been very good indeed! We set up a small base of operations for our annual Rendezvous trip... just a single supply tent & minimal gear... My Step-daughter's Masters graduation... (maybe I can wear those clothes again before they're outgrown!) Back to Rendezvous... My MS was not happy so I did not attempt to overnight bu…
