So, what are some of your favorite tips n tricks you've found over the years?  Things that help make your life just a little bit easier.

I'll add more as I think of them.  But to start it off.

When you have a chunk of plastic tubing/fitting that broke off at the threads, and you need to get it back out.  Use a sickle blade, it works stinking slick.

I needed a way to open our chicken coop during the day when no one was home.  We don't get home until after 4pm in the afternoon and in the winter that only leaves an hour or so until it is time to put the birds up for the night.  If we let them out early in the day they lay eggs all over the yard and then it becomes pointless to feed them.  I went to the junk yard and bought a trunk actuator and then I bought a 12v transformer and 120v timer from a thrift store.  After playing with some scrap metal this is what I came up with. Every day around 10:30am the door FLIES open and the birds go about free ranging.
