Just added a pint of Lucas diesel fuel additive to the crankcase of my 2003 Ford Crown Vic by mistake. What should I do?Mohok

Alright I finally reread it enough to understand it. If it is in fact FUEL additive that you dumped in the crankcase engine oil, then I WOULD drain it. Additives often contain things comparable to paint thinner which will break down the oil and will not have a good effect..

call lucas toll free number and ask them...as far as i know..it is a non-solvent..oil based.

I would drain the oil and replace the filter, cut the filter open if it has been a day or more. If he filter has 'stuff' in it do another filter only in 50 miles or so.If the engine has roller lifters on the cam should be no problem other than deposits knocked loose, for flat lifters remain alert for signs of cam/lifter wear.

If you every seen some of these crankcase flushes out there it smells like kerosine... So I would change the oil and filter... As long as you don't drive around a long ways i don't think you got to worry about it much...
