I just finished up my Fummins swap on my 2004 Excursion v10 gasser.  I installed a 2001 24V along with the 47RE transmission being controlled by the Dodge PCM.  I installed all the required wiring and the truck runs and shifts fine however I dont have MPH on my Quadzilla iQuad display.  Does the iQuad get the vehicle speed from the cluster that is no longer attached or does it get it from the transmission speed sensor?

In the beginning i couldn't get the trans to shift. I started poking around on the trans harness and found that one of the wires going to the transmission speed sensor was cut.  I repaired that and now the trans shifts like it should however I'm still not getting a MPH signal to the iquad.

I'm running V2 base tunes on my Adrenaline.

Sure! Ford has many points on the vehicle to pull vehicle speed from.  Ford uses a tone wheel on the rear diff to run the speedo, cruise control, and ABS.  I found the easiest point for me to gra

Speed is reported by the Dodge ABS computer not the the PCM. You would have to setup the Dodge ABS computer just to get speed. The speed sensor in the transmission is only for shifting not road speed.

Ok. i will switch it.  The iquad is supposed to show lockup correct?  the icon at the lower right corner of the large center gauge.

Little green dot. But be aware this is not actual lock up it calculated. Like on my truck with a manual 5 speed it does the same thing.

Hmmm, ok so maybe I was getting lockup before but because i dont have a VSS and only my transmission speed sensor it's not doing any calculating.  My current gear on the iquad always say L too. I'm assuming that since i'm not exactly stock on my setup i'm not going to have a lot of the information the iquad gives.

Ahhh... That right it not going to show. Quadzilla bases that off of road speed and engine RPM's. So displayed lockup and gear information will be incorrect.

Makes sense then. Thank you so much for your help.  I made sure to donate cause you're help has been so appreciated.

What is a normal cruising RPM at 70 mph?  I have 373 gears and 315 tires.  Just trying to get an idea of what i should have locked up.

Here ya go.  Plug in your info

Good news is I was able to tap off the ford vss signal and tie it into the wire that use to go to the dodge abs unit and now I have vehicle speed on the iQuad and it's spot on with the ford speedo and my gps unit.  Now lockup and gear info is working.  Also my indicators seem to be correlating with shifts and even lockup now that I switched the ground feed on the brake pedal switch.  Happy days!

Would you be willing to document out the wiring and everything you did to make this work I'm sure there is others out there that would like to be able to do this.

Sure!

Ford has many points on the vehicle to pull vehicle speed from.  Ford uses a tone wheel on the rear diff to run the speedo, cruise control, and ABS.  I found the easiest point for me to grab a VSS was at the cruise control module.  It's a Grey/Black wire.  I simple tapped a wire onto that wire and tied it into the White/Orange Pin 27 on the C1 plug on the PCM.  Once that was done I has VSS on my iQuad display.  Luckily my gearing and tire size allowed it to be dead on as far as speed.  It's actually more accurate to my GPS by 2 mph compared to my dash speedo.
