Some devices don't allow the link of the quad app to the .json file type of the tune.  You can still import manually.

1. Open the quad app

2. go into your custom tune menu

3. click Import in the upper right.Screenshot_20190829-080816.png

4. next a file explorer will open.  Each phone is a bit different, but you want to click the settings in the upper right, then "show internal storage"

5. You will now see this structure.

6.  you can navigate to the downloads folder and click the tune you want.

IOS

Also, regarding loading a tune on iOS. The easiest way that we have been able to do it is to mail the tune to ourselves. When we opened it on iPhone 4 mail app and then open the attachment we see this:

Click on the highlighted icon to open up the sharing button. It will load up options of programs to share to. Like this:

When you see that, simply choose the Open in iQuad option and you should be good to go.

Update for the iPhone implements a twirly when loading tunes or saving parameters. It will also give the option to reset to defaults if loading tune parameters fail. (i.e. when trying to load a V2 tune to a Legacy tuned Adrenaline it will fail a lot).

I've got to upload my Edge Comp look a like tune. I'm pleased with the performance and MPG is nearly the same as my old Edge Comp.

  • I dont know.  I validated both tunes and they are the same.  They both load for me as well.  Confused.

Try to import this tune

race.json

That worked, what gives?

the tune came from your device.  Dunno why but sometimes that works.

So what tune is that?

I still can’t upload or import tunes either through the app or gmail.

It is a race tune.

your dvice does not want ot use any tune that did not come from the export.  tell me the tunes you want and I will build them

I was trying to load the stock injectors tune, the no wiretap one and the anti theft tune. @Quadzilla Power This’ll answer your question as well

@notlimah, are you trying to load the tune and it tells you that you can't because one of that name already exists? Or does it not load it at all?

What happens when you try to load the stock injector tow tune? Have you tried changing the name to see if it loads in the list?

@Quadzilla Power  The app will load the tune from the site, but it does not show up on the profile.  He does have the right profile selected.  If he exports me a tune I build the json and he imports it back in it shows up just fine.

something about the origin of the json results in the tune showing up or not.

The only thing different that I can see is that the values that he exports have a decimal point precision. However, the tune that you sent back for him to load, the "race" tune doesn't have the decimal point precision either but it seems to load load just fine.

There is another difference that I just found. There are a whole lot of spaces after the end of the race tune. But those don't exist in the tune that he exported. It really makes no sense to me other than if he tried to load it and the app said that there was already a tune with the name Tow because he has a tune with that name in a different vehicle profile.

I would try deleting all of the user data for the app and then trying to load the tune again.Other than that, we would need to find a way to get your xml data where everything is stored and go through and parse it to see where the app thought to store the tune the first time it was loaded.

I've seen this before and never could explain it.  The json verify process doesn't show any difference, but it is as if the device does not allow it unless it came from itself.

So I've tried to completely delete the app, re-load the tune from my gmail and it still won't show. I tried changing around to different truck profiles to see if they'd show and still no go.

Any other ideas?

use the tune you exported and the tune builder to create tunes.

here are 2 more tunes for you.  anti theft and a tow tune

antitheft.json

tow.json

Tune builder is only windows based right?

Also, thanks for the tunes! :thumb1:

It works with excel.  you can also just input the values for your tune into the app.  Once you get your fueling figured out you really wont touch the tune much... I haven't in months.  Heck I dont even have a tow vs daily vs race tune.

Ideally I’d like to just run one tune as well. How much adjusting was needed from the stock tunes?

  • Author

Some timing changes, thats about it.   I did not set the default tune in the v2 tuning to be much more than stock.

if you do get bigger injectors down the road then the fueling tuning helps a ton.

Edited by Me78569

Yea definitely plan on bigger injectors in the future. Probably go to 7x.012 from Haley.

at that point the fueling tuning will really shine,   on stock injectors you can pretty much set fueling as high as you like.
