i was talking to you earlier on Facebook about some tunning changes to my setup. You said to take the smarty away, any suggestions to my 4K tunning to get it to rev and fuel higher? My max Rpm when sled pulling is 3685.

I am also looking into getting my hot rod pump turned into a dragon flow, any suggestions with tunning when I do the pump change? Will the quad still work with the dragon glow, I have read that there is no need for a fueling box with that pump.

my end goal with this truck is to stay with the vp44 and go after the record with it. It will also stay a sled pulling truck as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated

So first step is to unstack the smarty, it is just making your tuning more difficult.

The Quad doesn't care what pump you have.  I can't comment as to what the dragonflow will do.

Please datalog a WOT run from a start, that will help us figure out why you aren't revving out.

try thsi tune.  It will be alittle less powerful down low as the smarty was adding ~%40 more fuel on the base.  We can deal with adjusting for that in a bit, but this is a starting point.

Ok right on, I will try a couple street passes this week and see what happens. Also forgot to mention I got Hamilton heavy duty push rods and H11 heavy duty head studs, and running snow performance stage 3 water/meth

Yea in the log please do a %100 throttle take off and rev it out in 3rd.

The data log will show us if / where fuel is falling off. once we know that then we can get things started.

What transmission?

  • Author

It's got a 48re that's fully built with gorend parts.

Mopar man, what's your email so I can send you my data log

upload them to the site

However,  with an auto you are going to struggle to rev out more than ~3700 unless you hold gears manually.

Ok, Iam looking into manual valve body

Your set does not have enough a$$ to turn the rpm you want. Turbo is much too small.

  • Author

here's that data log. yeah iam looking into another turbo. I pull in a 2.5 class and gunna stay in that class so iam thinking of a clipped 72 or 75 charger

iQuad-2017-10-31-05.59.50.csv

@Dswinks  the data log shows that you are not running the v2 base flash.  you will need to update to the v2 base flash or go back tot he v1 vehicle profile.  I am surpised it is running worth a darn.

  • Author

It says Iam using the V2 4k version 2.2

Did you flash the box under the hood?  The datalogs is missing the v2 sensors, canbus timing build date.

You need to flash the box under the hood to get v2

  • Author

I had the box sent back to quad to get the 4K update, I guess I figured it was already done. How do you go about flashing it?

Follow this guide / video

This is hte flash file  you want to get v2 4k

Wants your opinion or experiences with industrial injections dragon flow or monster mikes pumps? Would you recommend either? And what kind of tuning can be done when these pumps are on the truck? Almost I've heard shied diesel makes a high output pump to compete with those other pumps, any thoughts on that?

What are your actual goals?

the communication protocol is not dependant on the pump, so regardless of what you get you control it in the same way.

I sled pull with it in a 2.5 class in eastern Canada, i plan on staying in the 2.5 class and attending pulls in Maine as well. At the same time I want to stay with the vp44 injection pump, so i would like to try and push the max capabilities of the vp

For the cost of any of those pumps you would be money ahead to ppump swap it. Mikes or a Schied lightning would be my only go to's for a modified vp. I would need to see your turbocharger rules. An s400 frame charger is what you would likely need to be competitive around here. A vp however would not even begin to do well. But I am not familiar with how serious they are out there.

Cost is not an issue with this truck, i am well aware of what it will take to make this what I want. Are pulling circuit is still pretty new so the real only limitation is a 2.5 inlet, clipped or bushed turbos are allowed.  My future plans is to stroke the motor and make it a 6.7 keeping the vp injection.  Any idea how I could contact Mike for a pump?
