I have a issue with my Juice I think. I’m not to concerned about it because I’m getting rid of the edge and going back for another Qaudzilla. So i went to check my wire tap and promptly lost the posi tap piece. Ordered a new one and reconnected it and seems rather slow compared to the first time I tapped it?? Any ideas? No codes or anything. Almost seems like a dead pedal but not really. Definitely has more power than without wire tap though so I lm sure it’s getting fuel. Fuel pressure is 18 at idle and 13 15 wot.

  • I have said this on a few occasions, but I think the "edge sucking" is not related to the edge.  You have said bad things about every tuner you have had in the last month.   this makes me think someth

  • Get a live data tool on the truck, clear codes, take the truck out and drive it hard.  You should see boost max out at ~14 psi on the live data tool.    If you see more than that then you know the boo

  • @Mopar1973Man  guessing by his screenname his truck is a 00, the map reads correct on a 00 truck using the equation I posted in that link.

Adjusted the valves and I think I screwed up. Much different idle like a very small lope not very smooth. I’ll have to try again tomorrow night... will it hurt anything if I drive to work with it like that??

Make sure you follow the procedure in the article section here. Cold engine.

Yep I will ! Is it ok to drive like it is??

Also do I want the feeler gauge to be tight in there or slide freely?

I don't want to answer that. I think it would completely dependent on how far off the adjustment is. Safe answer would be 'no'. Make sure you read through the how-to article on here a few times and get a really good understanding of which valves to do at TDC and which valves to do at BDC

You should feel some resistance on the feeler gauge. It should not bite or bind, but you also shouldn't be able to 'wiggle' it or feel slop, if that makes sense. When I do it, I start to tighten it so it's close, and if it's a little bit loose, tighten the locknut at the same time as the adjustment screw to make up the extra.

The s03 tends to shove all the fueling between 0-30 % throttle input then nadda after that.

The timing maps are worrisome as well.  Very aggressive at very low rpms and high load.  Very hard on head gaskets

Did a lot of logging. You can see the amount of pedal movement needed to Max fueling.  In some cases as low as %25 throttle movement

I’m amazed because I hear all sorts of good things about smarty and turn around to hear that they are nothing but crap! I’m so confused... Qaudzilla Xzt?

The datalogs speak for themselves.   Anything over sw3 just results in a light switch for a throttle pedal. Sw3 didn't max fueling and I didn't see a timing curve that I would personally run.

If you haven't been happy yet with a tuner you won't be.  The ez and xzt do the exact same thing.  If I was you I would just keep what you have.

I don't think the smarty is worth the risk on stock headbolts.

I understand what you are saying. Thinking that the best thing I could do is switch back to the qaudzilla now that my issues are solved ... I liked it until i started having issues and blamed it on the qaudzilla which was wrong. Thoughts?

What solved your issue?  Last I heard the truck lost power for no known reason.

on a stock truck the edge vs quad is a moot arguement.  they both will produce the same power, rpm, etc etc etc

Sorry I should have been more specific .. apparently the valve lash had something to do with the power. It seems to have been working well for he last however long it’s been since I did it. Seems like it has all he power it should...

I would like to try some more custom

tuning with the qaudzilla and also

likentoo be able to tune for bigger injectors soon... haha
