Got a turbo I need help identifying. Has SD-343579 etched on the charge pipe.

    No, take the compressor housing off and measure the diameter of the wheel itself.

The cover retention is a vband with a bolt on hot side. That screams k series turbo. Measure the compressor wheel. That looks like a k31.

    The bolt is seized on the clamp so I can't get the compressor cover off. I don't want to snap the bolt unless I plan on using the turbo. There is no play in the shaft but the compressor wheel has some chips on some of the blades. So I would rebuild it anyway.

     

    I measured the compressor wheel opening, just over 66mm, and the exhaust opening is just over 78mm.
