Anyone else experience a loosening of fuel injector lines over time?  I just started to smell some diesel fuel in/around the cabin and checked the lines to the head and saw some droplets around the injectors on the intake plate. Checked the tightness of some of the injectors and some weren't snugged all the way. I can only think they've loosened up over time due to general engine vibration but surprised that they did. Is there even a reqd torque spec on these? Thought they just had to be good and snug.

Thanks

I believe 28 ft/lbs is the magic number for the fuel line connection at the head.    I have never experienced any injector lines coming loose.   - John

You be correct... I just look in the Dodge FSM to verify...

Thank you kindly to both of you. Going to have to locate a low profile crowfoot wrench to verify torque settings. Some of those clearances are tight.

In all the years of doing injectors, I only left one line loose on a member's truck. I never measure line torque. I just go by feel. If you crack a line loose while running you see the required torque to make it seal and run. Then I just add a bit more and that's it.

I recently did an injector upgrade and must have neglected this step at some point during the buttoning up process. :duh:
