Hydroboost accumulator

Posted

This last week my steering has been slightly heavy after applying the brakes, checked the brake pedal and turn engine off and pedal is solid straight away

Question is,  are the accumulators available separately ?? as this would be a much cheaper alternative for me shipping wise, checked rockauto and only showing a complete unit

I resealed the hydroboost a couple of years ago and it looked fine just worn out seals due to me using ATF DOH

Yeah ATF should not be used it's incompatible with the seals in both the hydrobooster and steering box.

I've found a few on the web but not sure if they will fit.

Rockauto won't ship a hydroboost so ordered a reman unit complete from Summit.

I had a thought, if the accumulator is removable shouldn't take much to machine a adaptor to fit in its place with a hydraulic line to a remote accumulator, quite common on heavy plant and rechargeable too
