Anyone seen RELIABLE information on adding acetone to diesel fuel? There is a lot of regurgitation around but I didn't see and good data.

Supposedly cleans up emissions along with getting better mileage. I think it's a load of crap. It also reduces lube, so you will trash your fuel system. Use 2 stroke instead.

It may be crap. I am using lube - Stanadyne Lubricity costs less than 2-stroke. Was looking for acetone documentation. Have only seen untested opinions & regurgitated opinions.

As for looking for answer like most homebrew ideas you not going to get all the answer your looking for... The best thing I can say is to research it as much as you can then do you own kind of testing if your willing... Kind of like the 2 cycle oil idea... That the only thing I could suggest...

ive used it in an old second hand lawn mower running a briggs and straton motor, the acetone cleaned up the carb build up. so in that sense yes it can improve some things but at what cost? I merely took a chance on an old beat up mower i got for free, but I wouldn't dare put it in my truck or any other vehicle.
