I am assuming you can't pull the vp and the vaccum out at the same time?

I don't see why you couldn't. Maybe I am missing something though, what makes you think you can't?

Vacuum pump is mounted to the back of the power steering pump and is below the Vp44 and neither interferes with the other.

I dont have a pic to look at, but was needing to pull vp and just thought the gear from the vac pump would be holding the vp gear in place when the vp was pulled. Just didnt want to put vaccum pump back in.

I figured that would be the only thing you were thinking, and no it's not an issue. The cam gear holds the VP gear, but even then you could just leave the gear puller on the VP gear.

When you press the pump shaft out of the gear , the gear will remain sitting there as it can't come out unless the front cover is removed.
