What all is involved and what would a person be looking at cost wise?

I hope they do more than just check for cracks.A pressure test is also good to have.The mag test is around 100.00 give or take. go down to 13/25 http://www.arcraftplasma.com/physical.htm

I paid $140 (IIRC) for a pressure check on my head about 3 weeks ago.
