The cup that the drivers side front spring sits in on the front axle is mostly gone... the attached bracket that anchors the link to the front sway bar is detached.I went by the Wheel & Brake shop... the owner put the truck up on the lift, went over the whole frame & rear axle. General rust but nothing else real bad. I like his throughness. These parts will have to be fabricated... he's going to get back to me. I am still happy with the work he did on the Cirus. Of course I hate paying but I lke things fixed so they stay fixed.

Geez... Russ you going to have to get smart and do something to prevent rusting of parts... Paint? Like my truck I've been known on cold winder days to take the garden hose and hose off the truck and hose out the frame too. But if you want a simple way put a sprinkler under the truck and let it run for 5-10 minutes and move then move the truck to get the rest...

I'm kind of scr*w*d since the truck was not rustproofed or undercoated. It was on the spec list I wrote but not on the truck... I was sick at the time & didn't catch the salesman's error. The shop suggested getting the underneath sand blasted & that POR 15 rust stop paint applied. The problem, of course, is I can't do much of anything myself. I'm going to see if I can get it done. I probably should not have spent the money to buy this truck (new)... and I sure can not afford to buy another. I'm in this one too far to quit, so I have to get it fixed.

Por 15 is good stuff. You dont have to get the whole under side blasted though. If it was mine I'd get a couple quarts of por 15 and some of the prep compound. Just clean the effected areas with a wire wheel on a grinder apply the cleaning acid per directions and apply the paint with a brush.Luke

Can I POR15 over nuts & bolts & still get them out later? Assuming they are in good condition before painting.

I have a lead on a shop in the city that does auto/truck parts fabrication. According to my contact, they've seen these repairs before.
