My truck was running great then all at once stated to miss/loss of power. Pulled into a fuel stop found oil everywhere(gasket on lifter/pushrod cover spewing oil)have determined these were not related. Would 1689 pop up because of ECM being unplugged? Think I have a bad injector,so going to take them into get tested.

P1689 could be from the VP44 being un-hooked. I would clear it and take it for a ride and see if the code comes back. If not is just a fluke...

ouch!! sounds exactly like what happened to my friends truck, the thing started stumbling one day, the next massive power loss, wasnt any oil though....long story short, he dumped some 50 horse injectors into it and the thing runs great....he found some really cheap injectors but i dont remember what they are or where they came from so ill try and get the name, memory serves they were like half the price of all the other injectors i have looked at!
