Local body shop has 69 Roadrunner 383cid/auto. Body's in decent shape & interior looks good... bench seats... factory mags... reminds me of my 68, taking all my will power to leave it there. My CTD is in shop next door hopefully getting the brakes fixed.Location: Coventry, Rhode Island

Nope,383 is a wedge engine... I was always impressed by these big block, low deck engines (361, 383)... low stress on all the parts... damn near bullet proof (God knows I tried to blow mine up!) There was 'nough power to launch 'em, ran strong.Believe the low cid hemis ended in the early 60's... a college buddy had a Dodge with a 354 hemi, buckets & 4 speed. Russ

USMCcowboy,

Just for comparison, your 440 is the high deck version of the same big block.

From the archive: A photo of my 68.
