That would about cover it. Unless you want to to go the full meal deal and unplug all computers but that might be way too time consuming.

as long as the batteries are disconnected you will be fine unless you are welding on the computers themselves :broke:

Hey Thank`s for the replies This was a while ago and I had to think about what I was welding ,I misplaced my wheel lug tool so all the locking lug nuts came off via the welder and regular ones were put back on.Merry Christmas and all the best in the New year to everyone :)

You all do what you think is safe while welding on your truck but the only thing I would recomend is grounding close to your work, dont weld through bearings, engine and such. Basicly common sence. I weld on the back of my truck all day every day up to 300 amps welding pipe to code and Ive never had an issue and dont know anyone who has ever had an issue. Rig welders dont have time to unhook the batteries. The only time Ive ever seen an issue is in the case of bump starting the truck with the welder. It works on older rigs but I watched a guy on a project fry everything in and on his powerjoke doing this LOL. Who cares it was just a powerjoke and obviously no common sence. I have welded the exhaust, bumpers tool boxes, frames, hitches ect with no problems. Alot of guys run a ground strap off their beds that touch the ground when stopped but basiclly this is only for static electricity, so they discharge themselves before entering a live area.

Thanks jttrucker for the info .I sold the 07 and bought a new 2012:hyper:.So far I am really liking this thing.I got a good price on a trade in and with all the incentives I thought I would bite the Bullet.

Yeah jump starting a truck with a set of weld leads can get messy real quick if you think about it too long. Lol. Seen it done on a 4700 International one time. The truck started but melted the post on the starter
