Hey Gang...

I felt I should let you all know that with winter here and snow fall happening... Please slow down! I just got back from a vehicle slide off no one was injured but the vehicle took on damage. All the time of working this doing traffic control people were driving excessive fast on icy roads. Please be careful and slow down. It not worth wrecking your truck for a extra speed. Just leave early and get there safe!

Yeah everyone needs to slow down. We had that blizzard go through here and being on the brake even point of freezing we had the snow turn to slush only to later freeze. The really bad thing was that the snow was blowing horizontally east at 30mph and plastering itself to the lights, signs, you could hardly see if they were green or red. Stop signs were just white. I was at a 4 way and watched a guy run it right in front of me. Luckily I was waiting on the guy across from me to go so we both watched this guy go run it. It was all ice so it's not like he coulda stopped. Oddly enough, I didn't see but one semi truck with his trailer in the ditch. I guess there was enough slush on the sides to slow people down enough that they could get back on the road. But 20 miles east of me there was a 15 car pileup which is all I know, no other specifics and then in Iowa apparently they had a 30 car pileup during a whiteout. Said slower cars in front of people that weren't seen at the last minute got plowed and then everyone just started wrecking. Interstates suck for just that reason. Tons of people on it and if you can't see anything then you don't know about the florida guy coming up on you at 80mph or the old man doing 2mph in front of you. But traffic was very minimal here. I think people are finally starting to get smarter about staying inside rather than going out in the stuff. Though they could all be somewhere else for christmas for all I know. But 2 people died in the iowa accident, apparently 1 had twins on the way so people still need to be much more cautious especially during white outs. The pics I saw of the iowa thing was pretty devastating so I doubt they were doing 10mph, or 20 or 30....
