Hey guys. I'm at my uncles this weekend and he says he had a programmer that changes tire sizes. I have been wanting to do that for a bit so I said sure. I didn't even think it would try to tune my truck also. I have my comp box in the truck as well. I set the tire size and went for a drive. It felt like the the timing was all over the place!!!! I turned the comp off and it seemed to smoothen out but I have a serious power loss now. I tried to get back in with the other programmer to erase all its settings and now it won't recognize the truck. It says that it's not the original vehicle. This programmer is a smart chips "micro max" tuner. Obd II plug in. I have to drive 200 miles tonight!!! Any have an idea??? Thank you!!

Did you actually talk to any of the techs when you had it in to the dealerships?

I rarely if ever go in to my local dealership and talk to a service advisor, I know 2 of the top techs at the dealership personally and they know what I know and will not BS me. They usually know about things and will actually take time to look up any service bullitens and updates for me.

This really ticks off the service writers when you bypass them, most are no better than a lying salesman in the end, there are some who for health or other reasons had been techs that will help though.

At first I was just talking to the service advisor. When I started asking him to look up the TSB and all that he backed out because "he doesnt know anything about the computer flashing". So then I started talking to the tech and didnt get very far. I even had the TSB printed out and everything. He wanted to know where I got it because it was incorrect. He wouldnt even try the procedure. After a couple of minutes arguing, he backed my truck out of the shop and said have a nice day. :banghead: :cookoo:

I have a smarty for sale, shoot me a pm with an offer.
