I have a rather rambunctious dog, an Australian Shepherd. I worry about her kicking my rig into gear when I idle it for a short stop. What is it about a 3rd gen that requires your foot to be on the brake pedal in order to take the transmission out of park? Any ideas? I've got a low stall torque converter and the truck will go 10-12 mph at idle. Could be bad!!!:cookoo:

Use your parking brake. Mine will hold against anything I have tried. Dropping it into gear with it on and the truck won't even move an inch.

Best to just shut it down....Never trust the interlock.
