post-13212-138698209913_thumb.jpgSo that I could get 92ft# of torque I wrapped an old serpentine belt around the new Fluidampr and clamped it with a pair of vice grips so the motor wouldn't spin :thumb1:Push one way Pull the other... Worked like a charm :hyper:

Good idea. Thats why I like the manual. 1st gear and parking brake, motor no turny.

I have a Cummins engine barring tool that work quite well too. It is even easier, just pop it in the supplied hole in the bell housing with a breaker bar attached to it and it then keeps things from turning on me.:tease::thumbup2:

Doesn't work quite so well on a truck with 450k miles I noticed. Flywheel teeth are so worn down that the barring tool gear pops over them.

If it's that worn your starter drive is on borrowed time too. Sounds like a maintenance issue to me.................:smart::tongue:
