Speedometer bounces up to 35 mph

Speedo bounces around even in park??? Where to start?? Speedo doesn't work while traveling (bounces around) odometer seams to work ok.This is on a 92

It's probably in the instrument cluster itself, 1st gen trucks are notorious for the speedo going bad in the cluster.

That's the first I've heard that... :think:

Really? It seems like just about every 1st gen I've drove/rode in had the same problem, some guys fixed it others just lived with it.  :shrug:
