I've noticed some have a blue link to show details of their truck. Seems cleaner and shorter in a thread. Can you give a brief explanation on how to do this? I'm thinking it might also eat up less memory for the site.

Well the ultimate way to do it would be start a account over on the article database and create a vehicle(s) write up for your signature. Listing all your mods, etc. Then just copy the link of your article page and presto the link goes over the database. There is a members ride area here on the forum but it not exactly clean, up to date, etc. The change in the forum software attempts to archive threads older than 1 year to save database space. So editing later you have to ask a staff member to un-archive your post.

The one I use in my sig is the members ride and trailer section. I haven't spent the time to make in an article yet.

Can we EDIT / Update our posts in "Members Rides"?   I would do so on my vehicles & then use links.   If we can't edit than it

s not useful.  What if we add to or even sell / buy / trade?

That's the problem after a year of no action the site will archive and lock the post. Then it can't be edited. AH64ID already got caught in it. I have to unarchive it once. This why the article database is a bit more unforgiving. The reason on the archiving is the archive system splits the old data into a separate database and lights the server load. It's buying time for the site before we have to step up to a bigger server. So the active last 365 days is only held in the main forum table where all older than 365 days threads are archive else where.

Do we all have access to the articles section to create the link?

Just request a account and I'll get you set up to do such... Typically I build it mostly from your forum account but need a password for the final thing. Typically just PM it to you.

Is there a benefit to the site? It definitely shortens up threads. Especially with one or two lines of text in the message. Must be a reason that Mopar man shortened his signature.

After trying to view the site on my flip phone was a PITA being it took million of click on the down button to scroll past the signature on my little tracfone. I'm wanting to create another way or solution but with work its been really slow to get anything done. Might be a winter project.
