4 Wheel Drive, No More
4 x 4 light is on. Now if the vacuum shift iss failing would it create a constant, when in 4 wheel, problem or only on De acceleration? My issue only seems to happen when I am slowing down. Last night when I got home I crawled under the truck and spun my front drive shaft and heard an awful grinding noise coming from inside the differential. Not sure if this helps but it was pretty bad.

4 Wheel Drive, No More
I did make sure I was in 4x4 and not in between. I didn't think about the vacuum lines. But would that cause the like "snapping" noise Ive got?

4 Wheel Drive, No More
SO the other day I was going home from work, it was snowing pretty bad and the roads were really slick and crappy so I popped the ole girl in 4x4 just for added reassurance. On my commute I have a nice 90* turn that is completely blind till about half way through the turn. Well I get to that half way part, and this grey toyota carolla was spinning and fishtailing all over the place out of control, SO I did what any reasonable 23 year old in a big 4x4 cummins would do and drove right into the front yard of some guy who lives on that corner, I drove in, drove out and kept on my way. Ran over a few rocks and such but all was good, So I thoight. I got about another 1/2 mile up the road when "crunch" "snap" "bang" happen. Not sure what was going on so I popped er out of 4 by go and all was good again. Got home and in the parkling lot of our apartment I put it back in 4 by. Drove a little and when I started to slow down there was the noises again. I checked my u-joints they are all good. I believe something inside under that diff cover is broken, loose, falling apart ect. SO any ideas what it could be? I have not had a chance to pull the cover yet. And with the snow just a coming non-stop the past few days I would really enjoy having 4x4 again lol Thanks

fuel press gauge install ?
Where can I find a snubber? I installed my sender roughly 18" from the VP44 in the fuel line with a 1/2" tee w/1/8" npt hole. I seem to only find them in a "banjo" style.

Auto Trans Rebuild
Also will be getting a new trans cooler and lines, Looking at a Mishimoto Heavy Duty Trans cooler with fan. And Amsoil Synthetic ATF. - - - Updated - - - SNKEBIT, I saw you recently did the manual swap. Ive been toying with the idea for awhile, and now that my auto is about to be toast, it might be a reality. Do you have a parts break down of what you got to do the swap? and how was the job?

Auto Trans Rebuild
Ive used Sun Coast before on another trans rebuild for a buddy of mine and it was really good, I really liked it, But I will look into Goerend.SNKEBIT, sorry but I'm not looking to buy a trans, I want to rebuild mine lol

Auto Trans Rebuild
Well it has come time to rebuild my transmission. Ive recently replaced the governor solenoid and sensor, adjusted bands and replaced filter and fluids. Well now it is not down shifting. The forward band is worn beyond use, and I'm sure that with the shifting issues I've experienced over the last two year that the rest of the internal works are worn just as bad. Ive adjusted bands, changed fluid and filter, adjuster TV cable, replaced solenoid and sensor, and still no improvement. So it is just worn out, closing in on 200,000 miles with a stock tranny, I can't complain. :lol:So I'm doing the Sun Coast M3GA 3 Alto Transmission Kit, Sun COast Triple Disc Torque Converter, Sun Coast Billet FLex Plate/Fly Wheel, ARP Fly Wheel bolt upgrade, Sun Coast's governor solenoid upgrade it with housing, and Mag-Hytec 727 D Deep Dish Pan. What else should I change while in there? The rebuild kit from Sun Coast comes with every thing internal including shift kit for the valve body. But are there other parts I should do while Ive got the tranny on the bench, either to the truck or transmission. I am gonna replace the TV cable also as it is fraying up at the throttle connection. Thank guys.

Front Drive Shaft
My front drive shaft u-joints are toast. I really need to get them re-placed but I have never messed with the a double carden joint before. Any of you guys done this? if so what is the best method of attack? Thanks

Gauge Install
I took me two beers and about 30 minutes of build up to drill the hole lol. But just keep the drill bit greased so it catches most of the big shavings. Same as the tap. Then stick a magnet down the hole a few times and clean out the shavings. From what I read on another forum any tiny shavings left in the hole will blow through the exhaust before the turbo even has time to start spinning. I believe that was from thouroghbred diesels site not another forum.

Gauge Install
So I finally ordered and installed my gauges. I got Isspro EV2 Black Face gauges, 0-30psi Fuel Pressure, 0-1600* Pyro, 0-100psi Boost. Installed and working minus the fuel pressure gauge. I just got the last piece of that puzzle so tomorrow that will be totally functional. After I grew the cahoneys to drill a hole in my exhaust manifold it was cake work. I spent a lot of time running my wires to keep them clean looking and safe. Spent a lot of time cutting and fitting my stock a-pillar cover to get the gauge pod to fit nice and flush and as close to factory as possible. I hate when people do sloppy installs. But they look great!Pics to come soon!!

Honeymoon Road Trip!
Me and my new wife are heading to Maine tomorrow morning for our honeymoon. Ive spent the last few weeks getting The Pearl ready for the trip. After about a grand for fuel pump, batteries, and heater grid solenoids and wires I feel she's good and ready for another nice trip. But fresh fluids and filters, winter air in the tires LOL , and making sure the heat works!LOL, we're good and set for our trip. Any good stops to make on the way??

New Tires
They are a 15" Rim. I can't imagine we'll ever tow over 10,000 on it, if we ever even see that much. I would like to go a little overkill to be on the safe side. Ive heard some good stuff from Maxxis tires, I'll check out Gladiaters too. Thanks Guys!

New Tires
My ole man just bought a 16' flat bed 5th wheel trailer, 20' total length. Tandem axle. We are replacing the deck, as the wooden one has rotted out, replacing the wiring and upgrading the lights to LED's, brakes, wheel bearings and seal, and painting the whole thing. He picked it up for 500 bucks so no complaints here. LOLIt needs new tires due to the old tires being dry rotted and balder than a nascar tire. What tires would you recommend and why? I have no idea what trailer tire to go with.Won't be towing to many heavy loads but want to put here to the test from time to time LOL

Auto no shift
Well I guess we all have our "Here's your sign!" moments. Working on $500 thousand + fire trucks eeryday I see and have a lot of "oh $***" moment smyself LOL :lol:I'm just happy to have my truck back, I've been driving around a Dodge Caravan for the last three weeks. That sucked! :cry:I feel like a kid in a candy store again though. My truck seems to have a littlle more authority to it now that it's got a proper Fuel Supply! :ahhh:

Auto no shift
Between the 10 hour day I worked and the three 11 p.m. or later nights I put into the truck to get er fixed my nerves were run out.I had no patience left for anything so I over looked the obvious things and went straight to the worst, I thought the out put shaft was broke or something. But come to find out the guys I work with had to move my truck and put the transfer case into neutral and never put it back. They claim it was an accident but I'm pretty sure they wanted to screw with me. Sorry about the excited post, I reall yneed to calm down and K.I.S.S. I over think things a little too much. LOL. Thanks MnTom! You hit it right on the head!

Auto no shift
SO it seems to be one thing after another with this truck. First the batteries kept going dead due to a grid heater solenoid sticking open, then my fuel pump went, now my trans wont shift out of neutral. All in about a 3 week span.I just finished installing my new AirDog II, bled the system and fired the truck up. Went to put it in reverse, heard the engine load down like it normally does but nothing happen. Went back to park and heard a slight grinding. Put it in drive, same thing, I hear the load but no movement. Put it back in park and a lot of grinding, had to move back to reverse then park top make it stop. Turned the truck off, I can roll the truck in any gear, Park, Reverse doesn't matter. What is/could be going on here? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Truck is "dead in the water"! HELP!!
That seems like it would make it much easier! Fuel Pressure gauge will be ordered soon as well. Dripley, I figured it did, so I put it back but I disconnected the lines like you said. Thanks! Ordering an AirDog 165 tonight. Ill be gone to Appleton, Wisconsin all next week so I won't do the install until the week after.

Whats going on here?
I had the same issue going on when I bought my truck a little over 2 years ago. I was told that the alternator sent funky signals through ground wires via RF frequency. So I moved, cleaned up or replaced all grounds I could find. I havn't had the issue since. Not sure if what I did worked or if it was just a fluke to. LOL

Truck is "dead in the water"! HELP!!
Well I just got finished dropping the tank, the pump works 50% of the time. I apply 12V to the pump and sometimes it pumps fuel and gets me wet, some times nothing happens. Ive used multiple power and ground sources with no change. SO I think I can confidently say this pump is on it's way out. LOL. Now just to drop the money on an AirDogII. I'm glad I finally figured it out though! :ahhh:And for future reference from what I just experienced from dropping the tank, it is much easier to do that one would think. The hardest part was disconnecting those daggum fuel connections on top. I had a half a tank and it still was easier and quicker than trying to pull the box off LOL.
