Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it.

Front Spring Height?
Today I got to spend a few minutes under the front end of my truck (2005 3500 2WD). I noticed the bump stops are really close and have definitely been used. I could not even slide my finger between the rubber and the steel. They appear to have less than 3/4" of space.Even the tie rods are going slightly up hill from the rack to the wheels. I have been pouring money into this truck (all oils, filters, muffler, exhaust manifold gaskets, exhaust brake repair, plus other things I am sure to forget) so I don't want to go buy new springs yet. Any other suggestions?

Roof Issues Anyone?????
I know what you mean about stupid stuff wrong. I have had many screws that were stripped out, the skylight above the tub leaked, loose calking even the SAME DAY I picked it up, small hole in back of roof, the latch for holding the door open was installed upside down, fire extinguisher fell off the wall, clothes hanger in bedroom only had four 1/2" screws holding it up, you get the picture. I decided that it would be to my benefit to do most all warranty work myself, but the roof is another matter. I know of a way to improve the floor a lot, but if they will fix it..........

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Yea, but when you have a wife that says "I do not want someone's old camper" you choices get severely limited.I was hoping this would be my last one, but who knows now.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Hey now, the transmission issue was about four years ago and the ambulance thing was in 2016..... The roof is this year. I ain't that bad.......... It appears the Lemon Law in Minnesota only covers 'Self Propelled" vehicles.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Well, I am technically "home" so trip interruption isn't an issue. I have broken down in Standish, Michigan when I broke the input shaft in the transmission. That sucked. Worse part was after the transmission was repaired it lasted less than 1300 miles and needed to be rebuilt again because the shop used an inferior pump bushing. I even wound up sending the converter back to Goerends to get it repaired from the 'repair'. Then I had the flex plate break in Hot Springs, Arkansas. That one was fun......While I was heading west in a tow truck with my truck on the back my wife was eastbound in an ambulance on her way to an ER due breaking her right radius when she fell out of the truck..

Drive Shaft?
Oh yea, I got 47" of lift on 17" rims!! From what I have read guys have ordered a one piece and even had to shorten them by about 1 1/2". Some even claim it was the best thing they did to their trucks. I'm just wondering if the shudder is the driveline or the transmission. The truck had the shudder when I got it with 88k miles on it and it is still there at 97k miles three months later. I need to stay put more..........

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Well, since this is only the second time for the roof issue I doubt that any lemon law would be of assistance, but I can certainly check on it. I looked at my policy, but didn't see anything that would help in this situation. Might call my agent tomorrow just because.

Drive Shaft?
Hey guys, something I have noticed with this '05 truck is that when I am towing and trying to take off I get a slight shudder. It doesn't last long maybe until 10 mph, but I do feel it. I was looking around and something that caught my eye was people were saying the shudder is caused by the two piece drive shaft. Anyone heard that? I know that on the second gen trucks a 1/4" spacer for the carrier bearing helped. Do you suppose I may try something like that? If I did, it might be a few months until I would find out if it helps.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
The main reason the dealer doesn't want to mess with it is because of the flooring problem. The only proper repair for it is to replace the entire floor and they don't have the expertise to tackle a job like that. They can replace the roof there, but if it needs to go back for the floor the factory personnel may as well fix everything. I am not expecting to hear something tomorrow, but it would be nice....... Then I don't know how many months it will take them.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
I went and looked for my trailer this morning. It was sitting inside the shop so they are handling the issue as well as I can expect. I don't know what is going to be done since Forest River has not told us yet. Hopefully they will make a decision on Tuesday. Also, the dealer "recommended" it go back for repairs, so we shall see.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
I don't quite understand how you would get the manufacturer to pay me the cost of repair if it is under warranty. Looks like I need to take a ride this morning. Last I saw my trailer it was sitting outside with no repairs done and there is a rather large batch of rain a few hours west of it right now.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
I can see your point, but at this time I am going to hold off on the second A/C. I need to try to save what little I have in the bank!! This is all in the beginning stages so I am hoping to get this done quickly, but in reality this isn't going to be a "priority item" for them. I really don't want it to stretch out for months..........

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Yeah, this happened in the 'best possible place'. We are staying at our daughter's house, but want my trailer back! We got the trailer unloaded yesterday. I really didn't think it was packed that full....... It is a 50A unit and my wife wants to put in another AC. That can be done at any time since it is pre-wired for one in the bedroom. We just haven't spent the money for one yet. When we were looking for trailers a year ago my wife said "NO" (very emphatically I might add) to a used trailer. I found a couple that were in good shape with what we wanted. I expect FR will transport it back and repair this one, but I wish for a replacement.............

Roof Issues Anyone?????
Believe it or not, the guy in Texas actually worked for Forest River! He worked for six months in Indiana and six months in Texas! He took two months to get to the repair. There was a strip of aluminum that he said he was waiting on. I see no strip of aluminum like he removed in his repair. Glad there is a warranty. Last I saw my trailer it was sitting outside without any covering over the front. I may need to take a ride and see if it is still outside. I told them I was concerned about water damage since it rained (hard, flash flood warnings in the area next morning) and wife and I were mopping up water at 3:30AM that was running down the walls.
-
Roof Issues Anyone?????
That's what the dealer is thinking since there was no marks or damage of any kind to anything near the roof. The guy who repaired it in Texas said that there was no glue under the front and claimed "You will NEVER have trouble with it again"! Yeah, right...... At least there was and is a record of the first repair that Forest River authorized. When I went up on the roof there was glue where I stepped. I didn't do a close inspection of the area though. I am pushing for the dealer to help push FR to just replace the trailer since the roof alone is a $5000 repair. With transportation to Indiana and back with who knows how much to pull the body up and install a new floor it may be less expensive to replace rather than repair.

Roof Issues Anyone?????
My wife and I got back to Minnesota on Wednesday. I backed into my son in law's driveway to do some work to the trailer before going to the campground for the summer. I was talking to my SIL and turned around. I looked at the trailer and almost crapped my pants! The roof was lifted and torn due to it sliding out from under the front cap (I had a repair done for the same problem done in February in Texas under warranty. The trailer is now at a dealer and with the roof like it is and the spongy floor needing replaced they want to send it back to the factory........... BTW, this trailer is just under a year old so it is under warranty. This picture is at the dealership.

Door Lock Fob
Guess what?!?! I got the other remote programmed! I found a site with a variation of what I was supposed to do. Turn the key to the run position, but don't start it. Instead of holding the unlock for 10 seconds, the instructions said hold it between 4 and 10 seconds then push the panic button for one second and release both at the same time. Next push both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time and release. It takes a coupleof secondsto hear the chime signaling that step was recognized. After that push any button on the remotes, wait for the chime and you are done.

Door Lock Fob
Maybe it would take a phone call, I don't know. I just can't seem to get the truck and remote into the program mode so I can try to get the other remote functioning.
-
Door Lock Fob
This is getting ridiculous. I emailed the supplier of the remotes for assistance and the first TWO emails back from them was to get my full name and zip code? WTF has that got to do with these remotes? All I want is to get two remotes working. The remotes really don't give a rip who is pushing the buttons or where it physically is........

Door Lock Fob
I'm getting tired of seeing the truck from outside the windshield............

Door Lock Fob
Welp, got back from the dealer. One of the aftermarket remotes works and the other wouldn't program. The tech even tried another battery. HOWEVER, I popped the remote apart and found the battery was in upside down. I got back to my trailer and found instructions of how to program another remote, but can't seem to get the truck into the program mode. I would hold the unlock button for 10 seconds, then press the panic button and release both at the same time like the instructions said to do. I tried many times and gave up. Anybody else have any ideas?

Door Lock Fob
Off to a dealer again with new remotes. HOPEFULLY these will work.......

Exhaust Brake Question
I suppose the Jacobs would be about 1/2 price too....... Just looked at a Jacob's. The actuator looks the same, but the mount is different and it is spot welded on, so, not interchangeable......
-
Exhaust Brake Question
No, I haven't done anything with it yet. I am planning on fixing it when I get back to Minnesota in about a month. Does the Jacobs brake work off of pressure or vacuum? The Banks is vacuum operated.
