The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.
Then I guess those connectors and the wire I have should work. I didn't want to risk funky signals or anything, since the switch works with resistance. Thanks. I was really stoked when I got the switch and saw that it would fit!

Thanks Nick. What wire did you use? I'd like to keep everything consistent if I can.

Got my switch installed. I'm about to jump over to CF to post a quick install write up, I just wanted to share that the switch does in fact fit in the overhead console. As already discussed, the wire is too short, so I'm not functional with the switch in place. I have some wire that an electrician gave me, it's basically cat5, but stranded. It should work to extend the included wire, but I'd rather have it done clean if possible. Nick, is there any chance I could get a longer wire? Or, if possible, a female to male extender wire to plug in under my pedals and run up the A pillar and over? I don't mind paying or waiting, it doesn't really get cold enough here to need the high idle; I'm mostly in it for the MPG. (The switch next to the high idle is my EZ) Would this be considered powertrain, or non-powertrain? I'm thinking non?

Hopefully I'm low-profile enough that if anything they just tell me to knock it off. I don't want to get either of us in trouble, but I do know there's a ton of people over there wondering why they can't buy the high idle anymore.

Well, I just bought the switch, so when it gets here I'll take lots of photos and post the install on CF. Think I'll get in trouble for linking right to your store?

I read your write up last year when you put the switch in between the lights. What I had in mind was to actually put the switch in the plastic insert where the trip computer and compass thing goes on the fancy model trucks. It seems that there's quite a bit of room behind it, and it pops out pretty easy. It also seems that this is way more trouble than it's worth, especially since we're talking about building a special harness and whatnot. I've just got so many switches on the dash already, and I haven't hard-mounted the EZ switch yet, so I figured the two of them could sit up overhead. Lots of hassle though. I'm happy to do a product review and/or an install write up over on CF. I can pretty much talk the new switch up all I want and not get banned, correct?

Gotcha, so they'll actually stack just fine. Excellent.

Thanks as always Nick. It's kind of a moot point if it won't fit up there, but if it will, I'll wait a couple months in order to get it exactly the way I want it. Truth is it doesn't get cold enough in the Pacific Northwest to ever *need* the high idle. I mostly want the MPG function and the ability to high idle if I want. Speaking of MPG: the MPG setting retards fuel timing. The Edge EZ advances fuel timing. Does anybody know what happens if the Edge is turned up and the MPG mode is selected? Self destruct sequence?

Thanks Tim, for posting those pictures of your install. After seeing those I'm thinking that's right where I'll put mine if it won't fit in the overhead console. From your pictures it looks like it's going to be really close whether or not it'll fit up there. Nick, did you end up popping out your blank to see if it would fit? And if so, are longer cables in the works for the next build run? Thanks

Maybe this will change when they actually go on sale, but last time I looked at the store, there were a few switches for sale for $150 (cubby mount, pod mount, ect) and then one that was cheaper. I thought it said "unassembled". I can't check right now because the page says down for maintenance.

Mike, I just want to make sure I read your post correctly: the wire harness is too short to reach the overhead console, but it will be easy to extend? I'm also wondering what the difference is between the various mounting style versions, and the cheaper unassembled version? Does it just not come with a specific way to mount the switch?

Looks promising that this new switch might fit up in the overhead trip computer blank. I'm loving how subtle this new switch is, instead of requiring a full gauge pod or cubby hole to mount it.

Well, here's hoping it fits! That blank insert has been bothering me for years; it needs switches! I'd like to put my high-idle switch up there next to my EZ toggle switch. Will there be a way to pre-order these kits, to make sure I don't miss out on the first round? Or will it be first come first serve?

Very excited to finally get my high idle switch! Will the modular version be compact enough to mount into the insert up where the trip computer/compass thing is on the fancy model?

Scan gauge
Do you mean I shouldn't be using the "fill up" function? I never partially fill the tank, and I always select "fill up" and hand calculate mileage to compare accuracy. (It's pretty dang accurate every time)
