  1. I live in the middle of wheat country in WA, the Palouse. When you drive at night during the summer the highways are just crawling with them. I finally got some more cats and most mornings there's up to six dead mice laying by my front door. I have six PVC T's that I fill with strychnine oats in my barn and I still have a continual problem. Bob
  2. Greed, Thanks for the info. I'll be plugging those holes as soon as it cools off a little. I have a 62 Ford Galaxie that I have to leave the windows and truck open so that cats can get in and keep the mice out. Bob
  3. Terrible year for mice in my area, my truck is the only one of my vehicle that have never had any in. Till this year, had one get in the fan and get decapitated by the fan. Had to pull the blower out and remove it. Truck still smelled like mice the other day, removed the blower again to make sure I had gotten it all out. Found the head of one in there, cleaned everything up and it's better this morning, I must have gotten everything out. Has anyone else had a problem with them and where do they get in. Bob
  4. I've found some info on removing it. You have to slide it up onto the dash to get it free from the back. Then recline your seats back and slide it all the way back, then slide it under the steering wheel and dash. Then rotate it out the passenger side door. Bob
  5. Dogsled, Upgrade to the Chevy 1 ton cylinders like Ed said. On my 96 they made a big difference. Bob
  6. tylertrebilcock, I checked Joann fabric and they only have 54 inch wide headliner. My 96 measures closer to 56 inches. Did you stretch yours a littler or is your headliner narrower than mine? I may just put a seam across the headliner just above the seats. Anything is better than what I have now. Bob
  7. I've seen it on Joann's website and it's listed as headliner material. That's probably where I'll get mine. tylertrebilcock, What adhesive did you use and how is it holding up. Bob
  8. I checked them out a little over the 4th of July and the material wraps around the visor and then goes between the plastic inner core. I'm hoping that they just snap together, but it probably isn't that easy. Bob
  9. Checked out my fan clutch tonight. No play or any sign of leakage. Started the truck and run it up to 2K rpm for about 5 minutes, got out and stuck a rolled up magazine into the fan. It stopped right away and free wheeled. We're headed out camping with our fifth wheel on Friday so I'll see if I can hear it coming on. Bob
  10. I check for any play in it this evening. I'm wondering if it's always engaged and that's why I don't ever hear it come on like I have in the past. Bob
  11. I realized the other day that I haven't heard my fan kick in lately. When the truck was cooled off I grabbed the fan blade and the was quite a bit of resistance. Wouldn't spin freely at all. I haven't had any heating issues, but was wondering if there was any other way to test it. Bob
  12. I need to replace my headliner in my 96 Ram. The visors have some holes in them also, so I figured I'd do them all at once. How does the visor fasten together? It looks like they snap together. Bob
  13. Haggar, Found the problem, my front rod assembly was bent a little. Don't ask me how that could have happened must have hit something on the road and it flew up there. Took it off and straightened it out. It's back to working like it was new. Bob
  14. I have a 96 Ram with an auto tranny. Over time the gear selector has gotten harder and harder to move, I'm assuming it needs to be lubed. If it needs to be lube where are the usual places. I have put some graphic on the plastic pieces in the dash, but that didn't help too much. And what is the best lube to use? Thanks, Bob
  15. Yes, that's the part number, should have listed that. I'm going to have to go through the PDF to become more familiar with it . Bob
  16. Thanks for the parts book. Looked for quite a while, but didn't find them. Finally happened across a diagram that listed them as a retainer clip and located some that way. Bob
  17. I bought new Taillights for my 96 Ram and there is a clip on the body that the pin for the tail light fits into that is missing. The clip fits into a square hole in the body. Does anyone know where I can find one or is a salvage yard the only place to find one? I'll try and take a picture tomorrow if I get a chance. Bob
  18. I'll have to see if I can find some locally. Thanks, Bob
  19. I repainted my 96, one of those with the clear coat that seperated. And now I'd like to put the emblems back on. They were put on with double sided tape and I'm looking for a good one that will keep them on. Any help is appreciated. Bob
  20. Thanks guys. I'll look it up by the part number. Bob
  21. I have a 96 Ram, one with the crappy paint job. I'm going to be repainting it soon and have some questions about the plastic trim pieces on top of the cab. Are you able to remove these pieces without breaking them so the can be reused? And if so do they just pull off? Can't find them in the LMC catalog or I would just replace them. Thanks, Bob
  22. I'll check under the battery tomorrow. There are 3 wires attached to the back of my switch, but I'll have to look later at what color they are.
  23. I my drive my truck once a week or so, it's sat for over a week. Wife needed the car so I checked the oil, found a family of mice on the engine. Killed three of them, rest go away. The light for the cruise never came on when I pushed the button and I tried a number of times when driving. Even thought maybe the light was burned out, but shrill no go. Removed the cruise switches last night and with the key on there is no power to any of the wires. Checked the fuses in the cab and under the hood, all fuses are good. Never did find out whic fuse the cruise gets its power from. The only thing I can think of is the mice chewed of a wire, but I haven't found any.
  24. When I did the heater core on my 96 I didn't evacuate the AC. System. If you remove the brackets that hold the lines against the fender well and the back of the engine bay you can get the new heater core in. I only had had a sweet antifreeze spell in mine occasionally over a period of a couple of years. The radiator was never low on coolant. After looking for the antifreeze smell for a year I decided to replace the core. Didn't want it to start leaking a lot if I was on the road. I used a NAPA core for mine. Bob
  25. I have a 96 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a Cummins. Mine has the 8800 pound rated suspension. They don't make adjustable ball joints for the Dana 60, but they do make bushings that can change the camber from -2.00 to 2.00 degrees and many in between. Bob
