  1. My Airdog 150 quit working yesterday. After checking it out I found that the pump is working fine if I jump 12 volts straight to it, which leaves me at a relay or wiring problem. Does anyone know the part number of the relay I need? Any other suggestions would also be welcomed. I really hate wiring problems!:banghead:
  2. Ok let me see if I can address all the questions/issues. First I think your right with the BHAF. I googled it, because I didn't know what the H you were talking about, and this looks like it would work fine because I live in the U.P. of Michigan and don't have to worry about warm weather/air very often.Secondly, I am looking more for the power than the MPG, HOWEVER if there is anyway to get a happy medium I would be very receptive to this idea. After all no one likes to throw away money .And finally, my tranny is a upgraded stock transmission that was installed about a year ago. So that being said I'm now leaning towards the BHAF and DDP 100hp injectors. I will also look into that other intake and weigh out the differences. Sound right?
  3. OK, I'm finally gonna spend some $$$ and get a cold air intake, high rise intake manifold, and injectors. What I'm wondering is which is best for each. Here is what I was going to buy before asking for suggestions, let me know how good or bad this combination will be. 1. Injectors: DDP 100hp 2. Intake Manifold: CFM 3. Cold Air Intake: S & B The only othe upgrades I currently have is a Edge Juice Box, Air Dog 150, Upgraded Turbo, and 4 inch exhaust. Let me know what you guys think.
  4. No, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge, but I'm gonna buy one shortly so I can keep a closer eye on the fuel delivery. It's next on the list even though I am in need of injectors. 193000 miles and haven't replaced them yet
  5. It seems my problem is fixed, I unplugged the lift pump and it started right up. So I put a switch in the cab to turn the pump on and off but heres the strange thing, I also had to fix my main ground cables going to the batteries, they were loose. And now I don't need to turn the lift pump off before starting, its working and starting fine, so I'm not really sure if it was a pressure thing from the lift pump or just bad ground connections. Either way I'm just glad its working right . Thanks for the info!
  6. Thanks for the tip to check the ground, It was loose going into the clamp. I took them off both batteries and cleaned them up then greased them before putting them back on and haven't had any surging since. This also seemed to fix my long cranking before starting . Thanks for the knowledge.
  7. I have been experiencing the same thing. I even replaced my APPS sensor witha timbo model and have had no luck :banghead: , I have not looked at the grounds yet though and have not tested the alternator. I guess that will be my next step. Very frustrating!! Maybe time to let go of my 98 and upgrade.
  8. I don't have a pressure gauge on it ,just a low fuel pressure light so I would have to put a pressure tester on it to find out the pressure when cranking. I can't see it being the lift pump. That Air Dog system is only about 3 months old. I have noticed that it has no problem in the morning when it's still cold but after its warmed up is when it has the problem.
  9. OK I've put a Timbo APPS on and a noise isolator. That took care of the check engine code, however, it is still turning over a while before it wants to fire. Sometimes I have to crank it 2 or 3 times for about 3-4 seconds each time before she fires. I don't have anymore codes going off. I'm thinking that it is losing its prime of fuel. Could the airdog 150 be causing this? Before the sensor went bad it was starting fine, suggestions??
  10. Is there a link or website to go to to order one of these sensors?
  11. Hot or cold doesn't matter. Starts hard either way. I need to get it on a computer and see what code it's throwing. Check engine comes on intermittently.
  12. I forgot to mention a symptom. It is also having trouble starting, it turns over longer than normal before it fires. I'm not sure if its related but thought I would throw it out there. I had the crank sensor replaced already but it didn't make a differrence.
  13. Enlighten me, I don't know what apps trick your referring to or a 2-cycle diet for the vp.
  14. That's the one diagnosis that I was afraid of. It was in the back of my mind but I was hoping for anything but the injection pump. Not a cheap fix
  15. I just had my 98.5 24 valve start acting up with the throttle going dead while driving down the road. The truck just goes to an idle and the foot feed don't do anything. I looked at it while running and the throttle body moves when I press the foot peddle but nothing happens. Then after a couple minutes it just comes back and works normally. The check engine light came on last night but I haven't had it put on a computer to check the code yet. It was low on fuel and after I filled it today the damn check engine light went out. Anyone have any ideas?
