Need help with codes and "no bus" HELP PLEASE!!
I had the same thing happen to me after I replaced the passenger side battery. It was running and starting just fine until I replaced the battery and then after I got the CCD display overhead and No Bus in the odometer and wouldn't start and also got several codes. After thinking I fried the computer, I looked all of my wires over real well. There are 2 small ground wires in addition to the large ground cable coming out of the terminal. One of the ground wires came out and when I reconnected it, it started right up. No sure if it will help yours, but might save you some time and trouble.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
The fiber gasket had a big leak and even leaked when the engine wasn't running. The metal one sprang a smaller leak that didn't make it to the ground and didn't use RTV or silicone on either one. But it started to only leaking periodically but still not making it to the ground.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
I didn't use RTV on either gasket. After we took the first one off we could see where it failed. It was fiber and the second one is metal. It just seeped a little and only left a small puddle once. I don't know why I'm havign such a problem and not aware of a particular torque sequence.

lights problem!!!
I had the same thing happen to in my 1994 full size Blazer. All the parking and left turn signals worked just fine but the right rear. Checked all the fuses, bulbs, sockets, and the multi-function switch. I finally got underneath it, inside the hood, and under the dash and checked all the wiring and finding the brake/turn signal wire. After it comes out of the firewall and starts back, I found a short section of it that had rubbed against a sharp edge of the inside of the fender and actually cut that wire in two. Hope that helps before you go spending a lot of money.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
It's the bottom picture where the leak is coming from. The gascket there goes between the plate for the oil filter and the cooler. Mine is leaking from between the cooler and the block at the metal gasket. We cleaned the plate in solvent and used brake cleaner on a rag for the block but didn't sand anything. The first leak would leak with it just sitting out in the driveway even several hours after driving it. This one has just a trickle only when driving it and stops when the engine does. I work weekends except for Sun, Ill get your number and have a picture on my phone of the leak.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
The first one was fiber that came with the engine kit. The second was a metal one from Cummins. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or if there is a certain trick to doing it. I'm thinking about just taking to Dodge an let them do it.I'm just outside of Tulsa

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
Or at least I did until this morning. I shut it off after a short drive and it started trickling out again from behind the cooler. We used copper coat spray for both sets of gaskets, could that have had something to do with it?

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
Yes, I did get it fixed. The fiber oil cooler gasket blew out, there was a spot in the middle of it that gave out. The replacement one from Cummins was metal and has held up so far.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
There were 2 gaskets that came with the kit and used cooper coat on the gaskets. Thanks for the help, I'll start with the water gasket first and then pressure test it and see if that fixed it first.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
That's ok, I appreciate the assistance anyway. I did charge it already, but I want to get the leak found and stopped so recharging it isn't that big of an issue. I didn't have to take lines of of the compressor to take it apart, the only lace it came apart was at the condenser to take it out.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
Yes, flat on both sides and squared off on the inside.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
I did and didn't find out there was a gasket until after I got it all together.

Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
I rebuilt by '01 24 valve truck and ran fine for a day. After driving about 5 miles to the store it started leaking on the passenger side at the oil cooler. Is there a particular trick to putting those on? Also another possibility is the AC bracket. When I put that on I didn't realize a gasket went in the block. I got that gasket and ordered the oil cooler gaskets to put in tomorrow. I'd appreciate any advice or insight on that.

Truck Was Running Fine Suddenly Won't Start
Checked all that I could find and were all tight. I disconnected the batteries and pulled the engine control fuses and cleared out the code. That cleared the CEL amd seemed fine until I found a water leak. Thanks for all the help.

Truck Was Running Fine Suddenly Won't Start
Thanks for replying, it helped. When I changed the battery, a ground wire came out the terminal that I didn't notice and it fired right up. I replaced it and checked the ECM connections they were tight. If the PCM is on the passenger side of the firewall it's tight but I'm still getting the P1698 code and check engine light is still on. Again thanks for the help.

Truck Was Running Fine Suddenly Won't Start
I have an '01 Dodge diesel 3/4 ton that I rebuilt the engine on and it started right up after bleeding the fuel lines it started right up and ran fine. One of the batteries was dead and I replaced it tonight and went to start it up it just turned over like it wasn't getting any fuel. The overhead display read "CCD" and the engine light was on. The scanner pulled P0122 and P1698 codes. P0122 looks like throttle positon sensor and I can't find the P1698. Could replacing a battery killed the TPS sensor or was it just coincidental? I'd appreciate any assistance or insight anyone has on this.

Possible water inlet gasket?
We wound up using silicone around it and bolted it on. Be ready to have it running tomorrow.

Possible water inlet gasket?
No problem, I can get some and get them posted tomorrow morning sometime.

Possible water inlet gasket?
Have an '01 3/4 with an automatic that I rebuilt the engine and ran across something if I can get some help with. The AC compressor bracket is also where the lower radiator hose connects and then bolts to the block and has a water jacket. Looking at it, it looks like it may take a gasket inside it. Does anyone know for sure and if so know what the name of it is?

Dirty Injectors? Clean them!
After reading about taking the injectors apart to clean them, I thought I'd add my story here. I noticed a gradual miss in the idle and slight difficulty starting over about a week. Didn't think much of it for several days and the realized I forgot to add fuel additive the last time I filled up. I stopped and got some on my way home added it and about 10 minutes later it started running really rough, no power, and smoking like I'd never seen it smoke before. The mechanics at work said I had a bad injector and replaced the one they thought it was. Nothing changed after replacing all of them and noticed that a tip off one of the was broken off. Wound up shelling the # 2 piston and had to sleeve the cylinder and in the middle of rebuilding the engine. Just a word of caution of what can happen, not sure how frequent it is, but if I notice it again, I'm stopping my engine right then and get it towed home. '01 3/4 Ton 220,000 Miles
