  1. 280,000 or so miles were on WVO. Heads off. Drop the pan. Easy peasy from there. New head bolts?

  3. Where is the best place to get an overhaul kit? Reuse head bolts or get new? 367,000 miles

  5. I need less booze in the egg nog...sorry. Im lifting the engine to drop the pan. The bolts are loose. The drivers side lifted right out. Passenger side wont budge. Do the "glue" themselves in. Is there a secret bolt somewhere? I did square up my lift so it is pulling dead even side to side.
  6. Both sides are loose. Drivers side lifts right out. Passenger side is stuck. Trying to lift engine to pull the pan.
  7. Is there any oil that flows through the head under pressure? Doesnt ALL the oil in the head come through the push rods?
  8. Well the hole doesn't appear to be an oil galley. It is a direct passage to the water pump housing. Next idea?
  9. Not sure I agree with you? Blow air through it and i can hear it in the radiator. I was guessing a bypass or vent for the water pump. It does make sense that if it is an oil galley it would empty the pan in a hurry!

  11. Agreed. Tap, plug, epoxy. That would certainly empty an oil pan pretty quick! Anyone else have an opinion?
  12. Oil cooler is out and pressure tested. No leaks. No water in oil. I found a small dimple in the lower right corner of the opening for the oil cooler. I picked at it with a very small wire and the wire passed 2 inches into the dimple and hit nothing. Is this a weep hole or something OR did I just find a casting flaw? 1 minute video posted below.   13. Radiator filled with engine oil...FAST! Took about 15 minutes to empty half my pan. Ran just fine. NO LEAKS in the oil cooler. Could an oil cooler gasket fail enough to allow that much oil into the water jacket?

  16. Yep. Addressed all the usual issues. Now looking for that one little thing that might have been missed. Fuel doesnt change anything. Thanks. Any idea what your boost pressure is? Your RPM are 300 higher than mine. What does the timing icon look like on the quadzilla?

  18. Got the Quadzilla in and working. On power level 4 (add timing) My EGTs have dropped 50 degrees. With the EGT defuel set at 1250 and driving with some restraint I can keep them under 1200 no load. Pulling my trailer on 2 lane roads I shut off the overdrive, run 55 mph at 2150 RPM and my EGTs stay right at 1000. Trailer on the highway I had to rely on my foot and defuel settings. I added an entry level H2O kit. Spray starts at 8 psi and keeps EGTs below 1200. Overall my EGT problem is MUCH better but I still fell like I am missing something? No boost leaks. EGT 960 at 74 mph, 1960 RPM, and 2 lbs boost, and 23% load NO TRAILER. Do these numbers look right?

  21. Got the Quadzilla in and working. Just playing with the V2 tune and I noticed improvement in my EGTs as the power level went up. I was told that someone on this forum had a "Mileage tune" that also lowered EGTs. Anyone willing to share that?

  23. Waiting for my Quadzilla. I'm sure you guys will have plenty of help for me when I install it. Pulled the race trailer Friday eve. Made some REALLY hard pulls with it and each time the smoke cleared up a little bit more. Boost was up to 34 at one time. EGTs were still high but it would NOT peg the gauge. Easy question. When I let off the throttle too quick there is a loud, sharp, wooshing noise and my boost gauge bounces dramatically. I have heard that noise many time at the tractor pulls but never from this truck before. What is that noise?
