  1. my '01 is at 325,000 and was on the original thermostat. It was grunting to get to prob. 150*. I figured that it was stuck open, so last Sunday, I changed it out and changed the antifreeze. It's now getting up to regular temp, 180* - 190*. My milage was around 15.3 to 15.8. I think one time I got 16.3. I am running a Smarty set @ 9. I had taken a trip to Houston to see my son one weekend. I had set the Smarty to 0...... man that sucked. I didn't have any power at all ( ok, 0 is half power) but I figured that i'd get better milage at that setting. I got 17.3 . For the trip back, I set it back to 9, and got the same mileage. This was a year ago, when I went to get the dually rear axle for my build. Not a bad deal I think: rear end, 7 stock dually rims and tires ( 2 brand new) $700 , oh yeah, a new set of brake shoes too. Anyway. my mileage had been down since then. Now, since i've changed out the thermo, with the temps up, I should be getting better mpg's, right? ...... please post some pics of the set up with the resistors, or maybe a schematic drawing, so us plumbers can understand, please!!!!!!
  2. It would look good annodized, or diamond plate would be a winner too....
  3. I've got 255/85/16E BFG Mud Terrains on my 2500. I like them pretty well, they're wearing a little funny, probably from the bad u/l ball joints. I bought a set of XRF's, but havn't had time to put them on yet, plus the fact that were going thru a cold spell right now with the white stuff.I tried quite a few different tires: Maxxis, Remington, BFG All Terrains & Interco Truxus, which were the worst tire ever (8800 miles) and were wore out. There compound is to soft, even being a load range E tire. The Reminton Mud Brute were probably #1 next the Maxxis Buckshot and Bighorn (tried them both), then the All Terrains ( only got about 25,000 out of them, and drove sqirelly, too squared of a shoulder) They were all in the 285/75/16E sizes. Then I went to the M/T in the taller/skinny'r size. Anybody tried the Pitbull tires?
  4. Howdy, new member, 1st post. I've got an '01 2500 4x4 LBQC, HO. Pretty much stock, except for: Smarty, BHAF, 255/85R16 BFG Mud Terrains, Galaxy CB, KC Highlites. Working on a dually rear axle conversion with a flatbed..... anyway, I've got the stock radio with the infinity speaker system with stering wheel controls. About a year ago, the right side button fell out and a few weeks ago, the left side fell out driving down the highway. My question is: can I replace the buttons or do I have to replace the complete wheel. I've been surching the net, with no avail. Any help would be appreciated.:banghead:
