  1. You might ask about the rubber rivets that come with the new street DD clutches, They are little rubber rivots that go sideways (not on the face or back) of the intermediate plate that sits between the clutches. There are 4 flat points that have little holes that the rubber goes in they keep the plate quiet. If they are installed then it can also be the normal noise that Duals are known for?
  2. Well i did decide to try another fluid since I am changing the pto covers and I will be using Red Line 85 since it looks like they actually spec it with NV4500 on the bottle, I hope it makes my dual disc a little easier but it is pretty good as it is. Will report back good or bad.
  3. I was going to guess that the shop got the paint marks on the balanced assembly out of order but man they messed up everything there was to do on a DD install.
  4. I just looked up New Meadows on Google looks like I would be hanging out at the Intersection bar and grille lol
  5. I just noticed Idaho? I thought for some reason you lived in Eastern Oregon, I used to have a couple 71 GTX's man 71 on up B-Bodys got no respect price wise that's how I remembered your name Mopar1973man the weird way I remember things
  6. I read your posts on the SAE 50 that is what brought me to this site, If I had my transmission rebuilt with the new sycros (brass) I would not be scared to use it as you have a lot of miles with it now I just want my current trans to last as long as it can since the old gears are not available anymore. Really sucks a 5 million dollar in payroll company going out of business but those are the times we live in.
  7. My thought was the clutches had the additive in the rearend for when you went around a corner so it would not act like a locker to the inside wheel, so it made them slip a little, so in the nv4500 my guess is that they needed lube for the gears and shafts, then they needed protection for the soft metal parts (brass) syncos and then something to slick up the carbon fiber syncros. The pictures I have seen of a damaged nv4500 syncro it looked like little bits of the carbon fiber had come off the brass syncros. But I don't know I don't design stuff I just drive it.
  8. I notice reading through the forum that the Adrenaline seems to be top dog again, I bought one when they first came out for my now gone 99 2500, had a few problems like the fuel sensor just blasted out when I was driving and then they got recalled, then I had other programming problems and then the word was they where going out of business. I wasted the Auto in the truck so it did pull well and had good top end. So then I bought a Smarty (for timing) and added a TST 3 for my fueling on my current truck and it works well but it is 2 different units and I have not really paid attention for a few years and like I said I see the Adrenaline is real popular again just curios is it the same company with improvements? Is it really that good to where I would notice it for the money?
  9. I found it at GM and amazon for $33 tax and I need 6 quarts so that is what I will do. I wish I could buy the amsoil then add a posi friction additive but that would be to easy right lol
  10. I thought all stock NV4500's had brass sycros with fiber coating then when NP went out of business all aftermarket rebuild kits have a new design brass only 3rd 4th and 5th syncro and no longer need the special formula mixed in. I have an original nv4500 and need to add a set of coolers so I am looking around at options I remember ruining a posi in the old days by not putting in the special clutch additive.
  11. So the Amsoil MTG also is fine for the fiber syncros?
