  2. Well, I took the first step today and pulled the plug.It took longer to warm up as expected so I turned on the engine brake and engaged the high idle ( ambient temp 60*). Engine light came on rite at start up. (code, egr voltage low)Ran the same other than my millage went up an easy 3mpg.Being rather curious, I removed the MAP sensor that sits right on top of the air horn next to the egr and it was covers with soot, about the thickness of 3 sheets of note book paper. Not having ant cleaner I just gently wiped it off and reinstalled it.Ho ya millage, 2353miso what is next find some RxR tracks and see if the dpf will fall off?Where do I get the plugs to build my foolers with?
  3. I know the egr is on the intake just before the plenum but what is the other one for that is on the egr cooler right before the crossover pipe?I gust wondering? I want to delete the whole thing , cooler and all. (someday)
  4. Thanks,That's it.It kind of surprised me, wtf did I do...lolIt was a nice light show.I have a OBII scan tool for retrieving the codes.I haven't tried it yet on the 08Thanks for your help
  5. http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html I'm not an ALiol fan for personal reasons. Al A. lives a few blocks from my parents, he is not very neighborly. Kind of a slime-ball in my opinion. Al was in the air force with my dad. Al screwed over his buddy's and his brother. You see AL learned about synthetic oil from the Air Force, they needed a better oil for their fighters. The air force used their group as ginnepigs to try different oils in their planes. They were going to come back to the states with their new found knowledge and start a business. Well, Al got out first came back to the states and started up the business. Cutting out all of his buddies. Yes, some of their products are top shelf but their way over priced. Why do all the other MFG's spend the $$ for the API certification but Al-oil won't? He is cheep too. JMO.... Dino oil for me
  6. Mayne one of you can tell me what happened.I was going to take a look at how many hrs that are on my truck.(I know I was not doing it right but I tried anyway, I know the key should be on first)ok.I turned the key to accessory (not run) I pushed in the trip reset on the dash, held it in looking for the Hrs.nothing, when I released it showed the trip millage, pushed it a second time, it reset the trip.so I pushed it again, and one more time for a total of 4 times. While holding it in the last time I turned the key to run. 8| 8| 8| 8| The dash lights up, flashes, gauges start moving (not normally) where the millage is it shows the (idiot light) for the fog lights then a letter (and where the millage was is it was showing a row of numbers they changed as the lights and gauges changed? It cycled like this for a while then stopped. I turned it off and walked away. What was that all about?I never cycled the key 3 times to retrieve the codes(no cel) I Put the key in and turn it ti the first stop (accessory) ,pushed in the button on the dash to reset trip 4 times held it in then turned the key to run.
  7. Who long are they good for?I have a 2yr old tank of gas in my charger (440). I filled the tank and treated it with a gas stabilizer when i put her into storage.Do you think I'll be fine to run the tank out or should I drain it and burn it in my old 318?
  8. Same here I can get better millage using my foot than using the cruse control.By slowly speeding up before a hill then gradually letting off as you climb it or before you crest the hill. The cruse scenes the slowing vehicle then it gives it more fuel, then she down shifts using even more fuel to climb the hillSure this does not work everywhere but on highways with rolling hills it works
  9. I have 701mi on my 08 the oil level is rising so what I'm thinking is to drain the oil at this time or should I wait for the overhead to tell me it's time to change the oil.I've always change the oil early on all of my vehicles the first time. My thinking was if their was some debris from assembly it would be a good idea to get rid of it.so what do you guys think.P.s. This should make a few of you laugh or cringe but I have the AD flash on my truck.I'm making an appointment to have the drag link replaced but I haven't shown up on the list to have the heat shield installed for the insulation under the hood? Will the dealer automatically update my flash level or am I better off unplugging an o2 sensor let it throw a code then plug it back in so they will update it?
