No Blinkers or Hazards.
No blinkers or hazards. 01, 2500, 3/4, 4x4, auto, 360, gasser, black, larime, LB, XC Driving along turned on the right blinker it blinked a Doz times or so then it stopped. I tried the hazards and nothing. Fuse, good, confirmed with a meter. Then, I blamed the relay. Replaced the relay and still nothing. Running/parking lights work so do the headlights hi & low beams. So? Where do I put the blinker fluid? ha ha ha....Not It's going to snow in the next couple of days and my plow truck really kind of needs them to be working when I'm plowing in town.:ahh::ahh::ahh::ahh: :confused2:

I need to snowplow my driveway...
By the looks of the pics you posted I don't think your wife will be abel to keep up with the snow using a wheeler. At first your ctd may seam to big for your wife but with a little experience it will get easier for her.I would stay away from a 1/2 or a jeep not that they can't plow snow, it's when you get around to plowing that concerns me, a heaver vehicle will be better suited to plowing after the snow is over or when you get home after it snows. Instad of sending your wife out in the middel of the night to plow with the storm. An other option is to get an older plow truck, have it ready to go, just use it for plowing and it should last a long time. You can put a set of chains on it and a few hundred pounds in the box (back by the tail gate) and your wife will not need to worry about getting stuck.Plow selection get an 8ft plow not one of these 7ft plows, you want a plow that is wider that the track or your tires when you are turning. But I bet you know all this?

something you don,t see eveyday
If you look closely you can see where someone dropped some feed along the trail.I bet a neighbor to the tail wasn't to happy about sleds going by all night long? A deer head will slow them down.

Cold Weather Warning!
We had -23*f with out the windchill added in last night and it looks like another -20*f night, tonight.:tongue:I'm just glad I'm not in china as they have had a spell of -40*f with out the windchill add in.

Custom bumbers: Let's see 'em
That's what I want to hear. I'm looking for a bumper that you can bump a deer with at 60-70mph. I bumped one with the V-plow the other day not a scratch, on the plow.

ulsd doesn't stink as much as the diesel fuel did before ulsd. gas has a stronger smell. With this ulsd if I have some in a can I have to smell it twice to be sure it's fuel.Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Weathermen!
I get up at 1am and look out side.No snow, go back to bed until 3am no snow, go back to bed get up at 4:30am no snow, go back to bad.The alternative to to pay the manager at a 24hr restaurant or gas station to call you if it should start to snow.In my line of work I've learned not to trust weather guessers .

Ok how old are you???

DIY, DPF delete, sims
I like the diy for the reason it makes doing any trouble shooting easier down the road. I really have no need for a programmer or the DPF the truck has more than enough power to tow a loaded (wet) 24 ft TT with 2 dogs and the wife over the mountains a few times. I just can't have a dpf full message when I get here. (see pic) But, I'll look into kit prices too, just to see if any are priced right then I may give one a try.

Bosch Testing of Fuels...
Your right some areas have more than one refinery. like in Billings mt, and they refine fuel for there own stations but around hear we only have one refinery. All of the gas stations get there fuel from the same place, in the same area you will see fuel depots with the diffrent distributors logo's on the tanks. Every area would need to have a dozen refineries other wise. Other wise the roads would be full of tanker trucks hauling fuel from Conocos refinery to there stations for example. The refinery's are to far apart to make it feasible to refine all of the fuel your stations will need. . No matter who refines the crude oil all fuel is the same until it gets to the fuel depot, that is where the addtive packages is add to the fuel. I kind of wonder about this proublem. I've run some older cummins engines and we ran some crappy fuel, interspooge is what we called it. It's the fuel that is at the beginning or end of a shipment. When fuel, gas, etc etc leaves the refinery it is carried by pipeline across the state/contery they no longer use a "pig" to keep the fuels separate. so some of the shipment gets mixed with the shipment before and after it. Thus interspooge. this mix of fuel is sold to industry to be consumed. We never experienced and fuel problems? Maybe the fuel is the proublem maybe Bosh is the proublem as they knew the lubricity property's of the fuel in the US and they still MFG a pump that would not hold up to it? just some thoughts.

Bosch Testing of Fuels...
Hey, Mike who is this "guest"? Have them register as a member it will add to the creditability of there posts. A few things that I've read raise some questions. This test is a few years old and it was done with 500ppm or 700ppm? Was this test done with raw fuel or had the additive package been added and who's additive package was it if one was added? Has the additive package changed with ulsd? ASTM D975 for all diesel fuels this standard went into effect January 1, 2005??? 15PPM ULSD with 1% bio has the same lubricity as 500PPM dino. A couple of comets Crude is distributed by pipe line to the refinery and fuel is distributed from the refinery's to your local fuel depot's that are owned by various distributors by pipe line. It is at this depot that the additives are added. Our fuel is not distributed by rail car but by tanker truck to your local station. If fuel wasn't distributed by pipe line our highways and rail would be clogged with tankers. There are large pipe lines from Canada to the states bringing us crude from the tar sands. We have a refinery close by and all of the different stations, shell, bp, sinclair, conoco ALL get there fuel at the same place. It is at the depot that the Co, adds the additives that make the fuel theirs.

you could be right it still is 2%"The mandate requires a blend of 5 percent biodiesel in all diesel sold in the state by May 1 of next year. The percentage climbs to 10 percent by 2012 before reaching 20 percent three years later. Diesel fuel sold in Minnesota today contains 2 percent biodiesel, courtesy of a 2005 mandate, the nation's first when it was signed into law in 2002."

DIY, DPF delete, sims
Has anyone built a home brew dpf delete?I'm going to do this in the spring. That thing, yes I called it a thing, it has to go.I can't have the over head tell me that the dpf is 85% full, "regen required" and go into a limp mode when I'm 16miles away or more from a road that will let me go over 50mph, with a 24ft t.t. in tow & the family on board.so,What resistors work the best?I've heard of the 330ohms or using 470ohms resistors.Have any of you done this yet or did you order a kit from someone? Next idea, finding a totaled 6.7 in the junk yard (I can dream) and cutting off the truck side plugs to attach the resistors to.

No B20 here (yet) cummins is still dragging there feet on letting us 6.7 users burn it. my state wants go go to B20 soon. All of our diesel fuel is B5 in Mn even if the pump is labeled or not, it's mandated by the state legislature. You don't see to many stations offering different choices on fuel in my area.

Global Warming Fraud
The sky is falling the sky is falling. The earth was much warmer that it is now when all of those dinosaurs roamed around. Then it cooled off "global cooling" and a ice age came. "It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a scam. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming. " John Coleman Sure go drill into the ice caps looking for a carbon dioxide history, there were no ice caps when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Ice caps came with the ice age. or after all of those volcanoes erupted. Speaking of volcanoes, One big eruption can spew out as much if not more nox, sox & carbon dioxide as industrial revolution did. "However, the models also predict unambiguously that the atmosphere is warming faster than the surface of the earth; but all the available observational data unambiguously shows the opposite! " David Douglass "Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation? " Thomas Sowell see a pastern? I still think there dating is way off, jmo

Rusted off manifold bolts
Sorry, I didn't say what it is on.It's on a 01, 360 gasser.I put a gasket on it too.Stock they don't use a gasket any more. But I put one on it any way.

Rusted off manifold bolts
Well It's snapped off about 1/4 in the hole. I cleaned up the threads(what I could get to) and put a bolt in it and snugged it up.I haven't had good night's sleep scene. This is my front line plow rig so I can't be messing around with her to much until spring. Then I'll get back in there and see if I can fix it right.

I'll toss in $0.02 I know a diesel engine will run on a lot of stuff and everyone likes to run what they know. But I think the 2cycel is not needed. One reason is when you become a mpg watcher your going to start to drive differently and see better millage because of it. Maybe this is an explanation for the gains in mpg? like fueling 2 identical engines (as possible) give them both 1 gal, same rpm's and load, so we can see witch one would run longer? I found this to be interesting. * Lubricity is a measure of the fuel's ability to lubricate and protect the various parts of the engine's fuel injection system from wear. The processing required to reduce sulfur to 15 ppm also removes naturally-occurring lubricity agents in diesel fuel. To manage this change the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) adopted the lubricity specification defined in ASTM D975 for all diesel fuels and this standard went into effect January 1, 2005. * The D975 specification is based on the High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) test (D 6079) and requires a wear scar no larger than 520 microns. Chevron Products: Mr. Gasoline Answers 15PPM ULSD with 1% bio has the same lubricity as 500PPM dino. Most of us without even knowing it, already run a % of bio. Maybe the 2cycel is not needed as bio will do the same job as lubricity is concerned. BUT.... the your millage may start to suffer with higher %'s of bio http://www.chevron.com/products/ourfuels/mrgas/?&aID=79&cID=16

Chrysler gas engines
She has a 440,Got rid of the points and put in an electronic ignition.I hated setting the points all of the time. Fun cars,I never cheeked the mpg, just pumped more gas in to her.In her day I had her up to 140-150mph zone a few times, I even got a ticket for going 124mph in a 15mph zone. Some peoples kids. The 68 charger got a little scary at top speed, You didn't want to take a sharp turn...lol mostly I just drag raced 1/4 mile at a time and cruised around town..(street race)

Rusted off manifold bolts
Rusted off manifold bolts.I've been wrestling with some badly rusted studs.2 out of 6 came right out2 were rusted off right at the head.I welded a nut to what was left of the stud and worked 2 more out this way.I drilled one out, that went ok but on the last one I rushed it and snapped off the bit in the hole. Have any of you used a torched to blow out the hole? It's getting close to snowplowing season, so I I'm looking for a quick fix or I'm going to bolt it back on with a gasket and fix it the right way in the spring?

EGR, Unpluged
I think I'm going to go with the sims. That way if they want to mess with voiding part of the warranty they will have a harder time doing it.I hope?
