  1. thanks for info guys. got it fixed yesterday afternoon. the power leads form the battery to grid heater relay where lose and wires from the grid relay to the grid heater where lose at the grid heater.
  2. Any one had these 4 trouble codes at the same time? Truck will not start. I have not had time to look the truck over yet. so i don't know battery voltage yet or if i have any lose or broken wires, plan on looking it over this afternoon when it warms up a little. Thanks for the help p0382 p0380 p0215 p1689
  3. I filled up in winnemucca, nevada drove to marsing, idaho about 221 miles put in 10.9 gls to fill it back up in marsing for about 20.2 mpg and drove about 62mph this was hand calculated.
  4. Couple of tests to try. once the truck is hot and turned off unplug the wiring harness to the fuel pump and try starting, it should start fine because there will be no fuel pressure to the vp44, then plug the harness back and it should hard start because you now have pressure going to the vp44 this is where mikes relay comes into play or try using a garden hose to cool the vp44 off when its hot and see if the truck starts better after it has been cooled. if it starts better after these two test you need a new injector pump.
  5. If you know you have 35 spline Axle all you need is the gear ratio. The Detroit comes 4:10 and up in 35/37 spline and 3:73 and down 35/37 spline. At this point the #s and it being a hybrid don't matter. Hope this helps. I see you did the axle/hub seal which seal did you use? I would recommend the National 415086n for the axle seals. Here is the spicer pinion seal # 43504 and spicer pinion nut # 2001855. I always replace the nut it only cost 16 bucks. I get national seal at 30-40% discount have no problem mailing you seals.
  6. right from the dana 80 service manual. "spicer axles are identified with a manufacturing date and complete part numbers stamped on the right hand tube. The part number may also appear on a metal tag attached to the cover plate by the cover screws, depending upon the requirements of the vehicle manufacturer. The part number, consisting of six digits reading from left to right, is the basic number for identifying the particular axle assembly. The seventh digit following the dash will identify ratio, differential, and end yoke options used in the assembly. The next group of numbers is the manufacturing date of the axle and is interpreted as follows. The first number is the month, the second number is the day of the month, the third number is the year, the fourth is the line that built the axle, and the letter is the shift". did you get the locker order yet? If not you need to get the detroit locker for the Dana 80/ 35 splines and you will be good to go.
  7. so the Dana 70 axle shaft diameter is 1.50"(35splines) Dana 80 hybrid shaft diameter is 1.50"(35 splines) Ture Dana 80 1.50" (35 splines) and 1.58" (37 splines) you can get the Detroit locker in 35 splines and 37 splines you just need to order the one for 35 splines. unless or axles are 37 splines. Hope this helps
  8. Detroit for the dana 80. dana 70 Detroit will not bolt to the ring wrong size bolts. I might be wrong but the 70 and 80 have the same axles.
  9. More then likely you have a hybrid axle. it has 35 spline Dana 70 axles shafts mated to a Dana 80 center section. While the Dana 70 carrier is the same size as the one used in the Dana 80. The Dana 70 and Dana 80 also utilize a different size bolt to retain the ring gear to the carrier.
  10. Not sure on the stock canister filter. AD64ID could help you more with filters. Cat and Donaldson both make great spin on filters. I run the cat on my airdog with a Baldwin. I run 1/2 from the draw straw all the way to the vp44. I bypassed my stock canister
  11. AH64ID can help you with the microns. I believe the old data was 2 micron @ 98 absolute and not sure on the bladwin. $23 bucks total for the 2 filters. I worked for cashman equipment years ago so i still get a discount on cat parts. The 1R-0751 is about $17 without my discount.
  12. I would try loosing the ring that keeps the basket in place then turn the basket a little and rechecking to see if this helps.
  13. Getting ready for a new locker here is the case spreader i built.Flat bar is 2"x1" with 1 1/4" tubing weld to the ends and 1" acme thread. .
  14. I didn't like the quick connect fittings that came with the air dog so I change them over to jic/an fittings and new parker hose. If any wants the parts list let me know.
