Oil Leak
It blows hot on low, when I turn it up any higher it blows cold. New 190 thermostat, and AC works perfect. My truck has the manual cable to the door and it appears to be opening and closing as it should. Both heater hoses are hot, from what I read this is an indication of a blocked core. Am I missing something?

Oil Leak
Thanks - Mike has great articles. My dash is cracked and I plan on changing it out. I was reading about how some people cut the heater core from inside the cab and splice in a new core. I like the idea of saving time, and not pulling everything apart. Although, I don't want extra splices under my dash, and in the cab. I will take it out and attempt to do it "right", weather permitting. My ac blows ice cold, and now my funds are low, so I hope not changing the evaporator won't come back to bite me.

Oil Leak
The truck has over 315K now and I bought it from the original owner. It runs much better than some of the other trucks I had: 97, 99, 01. But the owner told me everything is original...tranny, injection pump, injectors ..etc. I put a manual fuel gauge on it and it read 5 -10 lbs...so I put a fuel boss system on it and now see 15 - 18 lbs. I was out of the Country for awhile and the truck sat...it had never leaked before, now I have a couple of leaks. I changed the vacuum seal and this fixed some of my mess. From what I can see, it appears to be coming from behind the ecu. I will take a look at the block off plate, hopefully this is my problem as it seems like the easiest to tackle first. Thanks again

Oil Leak
I have a 1998.5 24 valve and I leak engine oil from above the starter. I leak about the size of a couple of quarters every night. Appears I have an early engine as I have a cap on the front cover. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks, Philo

Fuel Boss lift pump?
My install went well with no issues. Nice quality system, good instructions - my fuel pressure doesn't fluxuate much. I see about 17 at idle and 18/19 @ 2k and @ WOT. I ran the tank lower than I usually do because I thought I would have to drop the tank and put in a draw straw, but with this system it wasn't necessary. I wasn't looking forward to dropping the tank.I called Richard on Sunday and left a message at his shop thinking he would return my call on Monday. I had a dumb question regarding the hobbs wiring harness and he returned my call within an hour - of course end user error on my side. Before I would see 10 at idle and 5 @ WOT with the factory set up.

Sitting for a year - any suggestions?
I had to relocate to Germany for work and my truck has been sitting for a year. Its been parked in a garage in northern california. I will be headed home in December for a month and hopefully will be driving it and installing gauges...etc. Its a 98.5 24v auto and had no problems before I left. I think there is about 5- 10 gallons of fuel in it.Batteries were fine when I left, I took them out of the truck. Will they be toast or can I top them off with distilled water and put a charge to them?I plan on: Fuel filter, oil/filter change, brake fluid, & coolant flush. So my question is - if this was your truck, how would you go about firing it up and running it? Should I dump the fuel which is in it or put some treatment and fresh fuel in it?lastly, i will head back to Germany for another 7 months before coming back to the US. How should I store this beast correctly next time?

Lift Pump Confusion - 2001
2nd on the isspro's. I have run them on a few trucks and never had a problem. I ran a mechanical guage with stainless lines (prolly overkill) - wrapped in old 69 corvette head light vacuum lines so I wouldn't hear anything from possible vibration. Never had a problem, but I like the smell of diesel in the morning.

Thanks guys. I am sure to have some questions as soon as I am back in California in December. Currently in Germany for work. Looking forward to installing some gauges...but not looking forward to seeing my fuel pressure.

Hello, have been reading on this site and just joined. Lots of good information! Had a few dodge cummins in the past and recently purchased another one (in sig).
