trouble codes p0237 and p0112 limp mode

Recommended Posts

hello everyone this is my first post lots of great info here! i have read thru much of the site but can't figure this truck out i have an 02 6 speed with codes p0237 and p0112 i have gone thru the wiring replaced the map twice first new one was bad out of the box. not funky readings on anything i have done all the testing procedures and can't find anything off. i clear the codes and they instantly come back as soon as i start the truck i completely removed my edge box and truck ran worse extremely doggy with it on the truck at highest setting the truck is still a dog but driveable i cleaned all grounds tried an apps reset with no luck checked and triple checked all connections wait to start light functions normally my intake air temp is at whatever the outside temp is according to edge module then comes up to 114 after start up and stays there doesnt move around. my question is does it sound like a bad ecm or computer on the vp going bad twice after this happened i had normal power when cold for about 3 miles then it would start bucking and go back into limp mode where it has stayed now for a week. i'd hate to buy a vp and not fix it or buy an ecm and be in the same boat. thank you all

The only ground is the passenger side battery you need to worry about. APPS reset just set the lo and hi volt limits.

As for the Edge you removed it completely and still ran poorly correct? If it was me I would remove it and leave it out for now. Then using a stand alone live data tool you can watch MAP and IAT signal in real time and see if there is any problems.

Typically a Bad ECM would have a whole series of all hi or lo volt codes. Again VP44 could be typically most people have at least error codes.

I would say start with the 2 error you got and work them out.

i did some more testing i have continuity from map signal wire to ground as well as sensor ground back to ground and also map power wire back to ground disconnect ecm wire harness from ecm and continuity goes away bad ecm?? that is testing with map disconnected i wouldn't think all three should have continuity back to ground thank you for the reply mopar man

ok with them both disconnected i have no continuity between ground and grey red wire i also have no continuity between grey red wire or the blue grey wire

So you are saying no wires are shorted to ground. This is good!

Now with both unhooked do you have 0-5 ohms from sensor to ECM plugs?

i did the first alternator ac current test wrong did it without any load like lights etc i think its safe to say the alternator burned up the ecm my reading pulsates between .09 and 4.56 :( which might explain my new symptom occassionally it feels as tho the ignition is killed for a split second then back to normal going to pull the main fuse for alternator and retest to verify

btw i found a good used ecm for reasonable will install one alternator issue is resolved
