'00 Ram 2500 - Brake/Indicator Electrical Issue

Right, my Dodge has developed another minor issue, I'm starting to remember why I bought a nearly brand new car in the first place. 

Anyway, the issue is this: My brake lights, seem to alter the indicators, indicating. For lack of a better way to explain it, usually you have the indicators going "tick tick tick", but when I press the brake pedal they go "tick.............tick...............tick", there's a pretty long pause between flashes. 

As the indicator in the instrument panel stays veeery dimly lit between flashes, I assume it's a ground issue somewhere, something, somewhere, is grounding where it shouldn't.

I'm suspecting one of the taillights, perhaps, because this happened maybe a day or two ago, and it was sort of intermittent, but today it seemed like it was more permanent. 

 

So, before I go absolutely nuts with the multimeter and start ripping harnesses apart, I thought I'd check in and see if anyone knows of a particular issue or where it usually goes wrong, when it goes wrong. 

 

**EDIT ** Went out and had a peek while it was indicating left, and it dims all the other lights apart from main front beam, fogs and the right park light up front. 

The rear driving lights, and the license plate lights dim as the indicators flash

It sounds like a bad (high resistance) ground. I would go through all of the parking light grounds included the sockets you will most likely find a corroded one.

Two grounds to check. Lighting ground is on the front driver side fender near the headlight. Then the panel ground is in the driver side kick panel in the cab. You might also check your fuses (corroded fuses) which produce weak power for the circuit.

Yeah that's what I'm suspecting
