Missing or Surging

Recommended Posts

I think its in the app's, when you are going through the gears you can feel a fairly sharp miss occasionally. Its irracic almost like a surge, hard to describe. But when you set the cruise its fine.
This is a new to me 2002 bones stock straight axle dually with stock exhaust and never been touched motor. 272k Its strong, the gears are like new no slack 6 speed HO.
Thanks
Did the key trick to check for codes and nothing came up.

I'd be connecting a live data scan tool and firstly checking for codes then on live data see what is actually happening

I've never bothered with the key trick

It is always best to pull codes rather than guessing as that guessing costs money,  if there isn't any codes using a good scan tool then at least live data should point you in the right direction

When I bought my truck it had a dead spot sometimes, if you backed off a bit and then on it again sometimes it would be ok sometimes not, but the P/O had said he had just replaced the apps, turns out the plank had replaced it with a £15 part made you know where, live data showed one spot on the pedal all over the place, I replaced it and all good, threw the faulty one in the glove box as it is a get me home part even though it is faulty

I didn't fit a Timbo as it was just before I found this forum
