@Mace, if that kind of power and beef is what your looking for why not buy a Dodge 4500 or 5500? You could get a standard wheelbase chassis and place a bed on it. It would come with the latest 6.7 cummins and very heavy axles as well.

I’ve considered newer Rams but they have a cad aam front diff which I don’t like. I really like the new f450 but no one makes a Cummins swap kit yet. Just can’t justify $100k + for a new truck. 

 

I’ve owned my truck since new so I’m trying to compete with trucks almost 25 years newer. It’s silly but I’m biased

 I agree with not wanting to drop 100k on a truck. Truck prices are insane. I'll just never tell anyone it's a good idea to get a ford either. Lol. Just my personal opinion

Well I’m swapping in a NP271D in soon with the Ford fixed yoke on the back, with a matching 1 piece driveshaft with 1480 ujoints (ours use 1410). Those are all ford ideas they run on their trucks.

 

Im not pro Ford I just like some of their ideas. Dodge seems to cheap out on what they call a “heavy duty” pickup. I shouldn’t compare to a 24 year spread it’s just frustrating for me haha.

 Also, tour comparing an f450 to a 3500 dodge. Naturally the heavier duty the truck the running gear will follow. Honestly they all have short comings somewhere. Personally I love my 2nd gen 3500 and wouldn't trade it even up for a brand new one.
