My son barrowed my truck and drove 200 mile with it on. I t got pretty hot the only good thing if there is one he didnt stop till he got home and I went out and felt the heat and took down the road about ten mile to cool rearend off and me. What do I have to look foward to now. Anybody have anything like this happen before? And the ABS light and brake light stay on.

Drum or Disc rear end? Disc brakes are a separate drum brake in the hub of the rotor. You need to pull the rotors off and inspect the brake shoes and check the drum for heat damage. If all fine then re-adjust the shoes as pointed out here.. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/e-brake/e-brake.htm

Well for drums just do a normal rear brake inspection and re-adjust the shoes if there not damage... But I think you're going to be replacing the drums and the shoes...

Also depends how hard the E-brake was pushed down. Maybe you might get lucky, if after the shoes were worn down maybe it didn't cause anymore damage.Come on boy, pay attention! :mad Know what you mean.Dave

What the heck was he thinking/doing?????? Was there a "chick" with him to distract him????? If he were my son, he wouldn't be driving MY truck for a while!! B)
