lowe speed engine shutter

hello every one i just purchesed a 94 dodge cummins with a 5 speed manual i've owned it for 10 day now and a few issues have come too my atention the big one is low speed engine shutter it feels like the engine is starving for fuel when your just crusin (4 or 5 gear 40 to 50 mph) and when i push the clutch to shift down the rpms start to spike or tac out and then shuts down as soon as it dose i can start it right back up again and some time be fine or it will do this severl times any ideas on this one

Sounds like it is getting air in the system. I would check all the fuel lines for line deterioation or damage or loose clamps or fittings. The 12valves are notorious for having the fuel lines get rotten. Wish I had a dollar in my pocket for every inch of fuel hose I have replaced on them.:pant:
