Checked every fuse in panel on left front fender under hood. None blown. Also didn't see tail light fuse. Is there another fuse panel?

It should be in the cab. I have a 1997 and its by the drivers side door hinge on the dash and covered by the door when closed. It may also be in front of your left knee when sitting on the lower portion of dash Just a guess) I dont know 2001.

My 01, fuses in the end of the dash driver's side, behind a little plastic cover.

Open drivers side door to locate. I'm attaching a pic of the outside cover.

Thanks guys. I even knew where it was with the hints. I have been into it befor. Was just having a brain fart. I even had the dash all apart yesterday repairing the sticky indicator for the trans gear selector and cleaning the dust out of my odometer area.

Not that a 2500 Dodge rides rough BUT the hot wire to the backup lamp rubbed through the ground wire to the tail light. Wiggle, wiggle Both right out in the open with no pinching.

If something chaffed through once, I'd slip a piece of split loom over the + lead right over the repair.

That's good advise and a good time to check for more wiggle wiggle going on.

I stuck new bulbs in but it's still out. Bulbs old & both new in pack test good. Is there a way to test this circuit by myself (without risking running myself over that is)?The passenger's side works. Does this prove the fuse & forward wiring are good? (IE Does the harness run together to the back?)

On level ground set parking brake and chock wheel. Engine off, ignition on. Shift lever in reverse position. Check circuit.

Yes, it should prove the fuse and wiring to be good. The VT/BK wire for the back up lamps (on my 1997) has a splice after the branch to the R/R lamps then proceeds with 2 seperate VT/BK wires for the back up lamps.
