I am not a gambler and only buy about 1 lottery ticket a year but do buy raffle tickets for certain things usually if they are giving away a vehicle or guns. Well I went to our local gun show a month ago and bought 3 $5 raffle tickets from our local shooting club and got a call from a fellow last night telling me I won the grand prize.:hyper::hyper: Got me a shiney new S&W MP15 Sport in .223. http://www.bmrpa.org/2013/01/01/2013-bmrpa-raffle/ 839 retail but selling in my area for around 1500, now if there was any ammo to be had for less than a buck a round I would be a happy camper but for now it will look good when I open my gun safe. Now to see if my luck holds as there is a huge 250 gun raffle on Saturday which I bought 5 tickets for last fall.:pant:

Awesome! Those are good guns. If you have tech questions, the technical section of AR15.com is excellent, though typically aggravates black rifle disease. General discussion and the rest of the forums, not so much...

Thanks, I will check them out when I get a chance, 1st AR I have owned, never even shot one before. Never been big on wasting ammo, I am a 1 shot 1 kill kind of guy and an more interested in accuracy and being able to hit things in the 200-400 yard range. Kinda comes with growing up on the prairie, nothing like rolling coyotes at a dead run at 400+ yards.Still nice to have, Can't complain but I wish it was a 20" barrel instead of 16" maybe get into Prairie dog shooting more once I get it zeroed in and find out the accuracy range of it and what ammo will be the most accurate. If I can find anything that isn't FMJ which is all I can find.:(

Yeah, you will lose some velocity with the 16". The AR design is very accurate. It isn't unusual to see sub MOA accuracy out of a "run of the mill" AR. The other cool thing is now that you have a lower, you can use it on any (aside from a few colt) uppers. I've found that the 5.56 is VERY flat out to 300 yards. My dads dedicated varmint AR is like shooting a laser.

These are fun guns. I have several and use them to target practice and hunt foxes and coyotes. Of course I use my 17HMR to hunt the same things but the Ar's are just fun. The idea to be able to change the uppers is just flat neat. I have one upper in 50 bmg and that one puts a whole new meaning into plinking and hunting coyotes way out there. Did I say they were just fun to shoot. :thumbup2::thumbup2:
