I ordered my new exhaust yesterday and wanted to tip everyone off to a good deal. I ordered from extreme diesel performance and got a magna flow 4" aluminized pipe turbo back for $190! It was originally $207 but I used a promo code for an additional 10% off. It should be here Thursday according to the ups tracking. I will post pics when I get it installed. No muffler on this one so I will have to wait and see how loud it is. I work on military bases though and I'm not sure if they will like it as much as I do.

Good to hear! I don't think the smaller down pipe will be a problem. The stock down pipe is 4" to the resonator isn't it? Maybe I just use the stock down pipe instead. The kit says no tip. Does that mean that it is shortened to allow for a tip? Or is it like the stock exhaust that just exits out with no tip? Trying to decide if I need to buy one

My Diamond Eye exhaust came with no tip and was full length, and exited directly behind the rear wheel. I didn't care for the way it looked so I cut the exhaust at the last 45* bend, and rotated it so that it exits at a slight down angle and more towards the rear of the truck. I also made a mitre cut on the end to improve the looks. I painted my rear tail assembly with an etching primer and flat black and it looks good enough I don't plan on buying a tip for it.

You can buy just the tail pipe section from XDP. I don't really recall the pricing but I wouldn't think it would be too bad. Any place that sells diesel parts should be able to get it for you. It will be basically from the muffler back I believe

yea it seems pretty crazy that i can get a whole turbo back kit for marginally more. I will have to check the integrity of the rest of the exhaust and see if it makes economical sense. hate to spend money i dont need to.

Ya there may be cheaper options out there for the tail pipe that is just the one that I knew of. I know I checked around to see if I could find a shop to bend me one. There was a shop that had originally told me that they would build me one for about $300. Went back to talk to them and found out the didn't have a 4" bender, they were just going to order a kit and assemble it. Figured I would cut out the middle man. But in case anyone is looking for a custom bent exhaust like I was, that shop and another told me it is nearly impossible to find a shop that will fabricate 4". Apparently the bender for pipe that big runs about $100k. A standard bender that will do up to 3" is about $10k. So it's just not economical for them to keep the equipment for the occasional diesel truck.

I have a 4"MBRP turbo back, w flow through pipe. After a few day trips I had to quite things down. 1st I put dinamap sound proofing pad inside from cab back wall under back window( nothing but that tin resonating with ex noise), under back and front seats, and put interior carpet with new pad over that. Helped some but still drones me out of the cab, found a Donaldson 4" muffler, installed it, now you can talk to someone inside with the windows up @ 60MPH, and hear the radio @ a low volume. I still have the FLOW THROUGH PIPE if anybody is interested. Price on EX system is good, I hope you have it installed & pics when this is posted. Regards Dave.

Don't forget before and after videos!:smart:

I really wish I had thought of that! The install is all done though! It sounds incredible! I think this is the way that dodge should have done it. You can hear the turbo much better! Also I think that the throttle response is better. But it's hard to tell because I can't seem to keep my foot out of it... But as far as the kit goes, it seems like a really nice quality. Everything lined up on the first try and all of the stock hangers worked just fine. Now for the bad... The stock exhaust was a real P.I.T.A to remove! Apparently over the last decade or so the pipes rusted together and might as well have been welded! Of course I did not have access to a reciprocating saw, so it just took and hour and a half of sweat, hammering, and cussing to get it off. A word of hard earned wisdom, take the turbo down tube out through the top. It's much easier! If I had to do it again I would go buy a saw. But I would highly recommend this kit. Once I got to the install it only took about 20 minutes to get it all clamped together. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow, it's raining at the moment.

i thought i would give my impressions after a few days of living with this exhaust.it still sounds incredible! i love the way the exhaust barks and the turbo sounds great. after a few highway blasts i can say that there is no drone. with the windows up and the a/c running you can barely even hear it at all unless i stand on it. no problem with hearing the radio over it with the windows down around town either. i would have expected it to be much louder being a straight pipe but i am very happy with the results! it really woke up the throttle response! i donthave an EGT gauge so i cant comment on that, and i havent done any towing with it yet. but over all, the best $200 i have ever spent on the truck! now for some injectors...:burnout:
