Are the starters for 12v and 24valve Cummins the same?If not, what are the differences?Also, is there any benefit to replacing the stock NipponDenso with a Delco or other brand?TIA<als>

1stwelcome to the group!2nd i dont think there is a difference aside from a spacer for certain configs like auto tranny vs manual tranny. i would presume they are the same starter. correct me if wrong team

Randy is right, the starters are the same and as for the spacer its only used on trucks with the 6 speed manual transmission.

As far as what I've seen for the starters they are interchangeable. Most of us just rebuild them ourselves and don't have to pay the big price of replacement.
