Hey gang,I have a quick question about the 1st gen water pumps. I had a guy today tell me that some the 1st gens had a funky (for lack of a better term) water pump where it had a bunch of bolts that you had to remove and it was a real pain? Something like the inlet was way at the bottom of the engine or something... Is that true or was he just confused?:shrug:I always thought all Cummins just had the simple 2 bolt water pump?:shrug:Thanks,Winslow

Hello all moparheads, trying to identify what transmission I have...hoping someone can help. 1992 Dodge W250 4x4 diesel long bed. The little I have found indicates its a 46rh but then other sources lead me to think it may be the old 727. Also trying to find out what is the proper fluid to use for a filter and fluid change out. Anyone out there have the same truck or knowledge on this? Thanks.

My Lift Pump [Fuel Pump/Supply Pump, what ever you want to call it] is leaking and must be replaced. I have a few questions I shall ask below.... any help is appreciated as always. First off my truck is a 1993 with a CTD. VE IP that I suspect was turned up slightly before I got it. Otherwise pretty much stock. WOT NO LOAD is..... 2725 RPM. I got a Airtex #1407 Lift Pump from Advance Auto Parts today. Is this pump OK, or do I need to get another kind?? Does the VE IP need a certain fuel pressure supplied to it??? Or is that just the later model trucks and IP's??? Also, the supply line to the Lift Pump looks like it has a "quick connect" or something?…

I'm a new member here, sorry I have to start with a question. I have a 93 Dodge with 1st Gen Cummins engine. I had experienced some weird symptoms untilI narrowed it down this weekend. In short, when parked on a steep hill (my driveway), with thetruck pointing uphill, the fuel will drain back into the tank. It will not self-bleed (with the starter). Then, of course, it will not start. When I flip the truck, and have it pointing downhill, in about 24 hours the lines will bleed and I'mgood to go. Truck starts fine. (One the fastest starting and best running Cummins I have everowned). Rather than start replacing things left and right I was trying to determine where the checkv…

1993 Dodge D-250 w/ cummins.I need a quick bit of info on the belt tensioner.1. Does it come off when the bolt in the middle is removed?2. I think the assembly is ok and I just need to replace the idler pulley. Is this easier to accomplish by removing the complete assembly. Thanks in advance.

as i usually do i was brain storming while working on my truck and had a idea pop into mind, what if you used hydrogen peroxide instead of methanol and water. consumer grade H2O2 comes in a 3% solution the other 97% is water. my theory with this, is that as with meth/water it should produce a denser charge of boost but unlike methanol, hydrogen peroxide is a oxidizer thus allowing more fuel to be introduced and burned fully in the cylinder. i would love to hear some input from the members on this. Remember this a theory and i HAVE NOT TESTED this yet so i would not recommend going to the store and dumping a bunch of hydrogen peroxide in your meth/water tank.

Ok guys here's the deal I'm rewiring my whole truck and would like to know what kind of extras you guys would like to inter graded into the harness. I'm going to put extras such as power window locks, TC lock up by pass, inter lamp over ride, and more stupid little options. I don't care how useless or impractical they are, i just want to be able cover all extra items that can be thought of.

  18. I acquired a Holset turbo off of a 3 cylinder Cummins. the assy. # is 3524121 and the serial # is 1401616. Is this a suitable size turbo to be combined with my stalk turbo on my 92' w250? I took a very close look at my spare turbo and was barely able to make out the model # but it said type-H1C i believe it is the 72mm model, I'm still looking for any info on it's max CFM. In the process i found some very useful info that Holset owners should enjoy (service, repair, and a pocket guide for every Holeset turbo!) http://www.holset.co.uk/mainsite/files/4_4-service%20literature.php

  19. I have a 92' power wagon 250 with the 5.9L 12V intercooled, A/C, power windows, locks, and lots of electrical problems! My biggest problem right now however is that my over drive will disengage at speeds of 75MPH or not engage at all. I noticed that the problem happens when it's moist or wet out although it still occurs when everything is bone dry, also the tachometer will not read true or not give a reading at all while the problem is happening. But if i step on the brakes the tachometer will work but it still wont shift. my battery voltage drops a considerable amount as well sometimes down to 10V, all these problems come and go at the same time. please help!! I bought a…

Geez... I'm really on a learning curve with doing front end work! I'd just got done doing the upper ball joints, tie-rods ends and center link on Taz's 92 Dodge Cummins. Its a 2WD truck and man I can't hit the right toe angle because I think the lower ball joint are sloopy. When I do get the toe angle set for parallel (near ZERO) the tires rub the front end rods. So I added toe to the front end and it driveable but its not right yet... So Taz and myself are thinking its got to be the lower ball joints allowing the bottom of the tire to slip inward (top of the tire leans outwards).
