greetings all, just bought my first diesel, a 99 2500 quad cab, finally got the Cummins i've always wanted :)while not new to wrenching my own rides (i've been running jeeps for a few years now) diesels are a whole new world to me, so i'm here to read, creep, learn and hopefully get to be useful enough to contribute eventually.

Just joined the forum a few days ago and figured I'd say hi. I'm the Equipment Manager for the golf and grounds department at a large resort in Verona NY. We maintain a fleet of equipment that ranges from chainsaws to tri-axle dump trucks. Looking forward to learning all I can about the old dodge I've got because the thought of having a truck payment again doesn't sit well with me. 261,000 miles and hoping for 500,000.

Been driving Dodge 4x4 2500 diesels since '98 for my work. Had '98, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 (6.7L slice of poop), 2010. Traded them off with 100K, drove the 2005 and 2010 to 200K. Had very good luck with all the trucks except the 2007, no way I was keeping that thing out of warranty. Put a crank seal on the 2010 at 167K.Recently sold the 2010 and bought a 2001 with 82K with the idea of driving it for my work for a year, 50-60k, than turning it into a dedicated plow truck and then maybe find another low mileage Gen 2? The 2001 is certainly different compared to the 2010, a bit louder, that's OK, feels more like a truck should. Unfortunately the fuel pump/injestor pump w…

Merry Christmas to all! My name is Lance. I reside in Missouri about 12 miles from the Arkansas border. Own my own business and we run the family cow/calf operation. I have an ALL black 99 DRW. When I bought the truck it was basically stock. Had an Edge comp box on it. Since owning it I'm currently running a Valair DD, DAP 150 sticks, BD 63/68/14 non-gated, ARP studs, water/meth system(only to cool while towing), Fass with Draw Straw and 1/2 inch lines, Comp box(now unlocked), and 4 inch TBE to 8 inch stacks. She's got 340,000 on her and I would get in it tomorrow and pull my 40 gooseneck full of cattle to Texas, which we do fairly often. I should say I'm 48 years o…

After reading mountains of threads throughout the years I've got to the point where I got some questions of my own and wanted to help out the site. Truck Info: 2001 Quad Cab Automatic ~260K Miles 4.10s BHAF, Torque Converter, Shift Kit, Fass Random small things like greaseable ball joints, etc Currently in Vancouver, WA and I work as a manufacturing engineer at a facility that machines die cast aluminum transmission housing components for the GM 9T50/Ford. I got my truck from my dad who bought it new and used it hard for 18 years as a work truck. It's towed a significant amount for an automatic with more th…

Hey guys and gals, a forum newbie here. However, I have been lurking for about a year now. This is great site with some solid no-nonsense information! I am fairly new to the Dodge Cummins diesel but not so new to diesels. I've tinkered and built a GM 6.5 that pulls like a BBC and have nosed around a Duramax or two. I picked up an uber-clean '01 Quad-Cab Dually a year ago from a guy who needed a few bucks. My plan was to flip it for a profit; needless to say I'm still driving it occasionally and actually kinda like it! J I have a little hole-in-the-wall body shop that obliterates my freetime as I work a full time job too. I enjoy restorations, customizations an…

I sold my 2012 Ram back in February and have regretted it since. As much as I liked the newer truck with all the luxuries and power, I really missed my old second gens more than anything. Hopefully I will be bringing home a new to me 98 12v tomorrow. It’s a longbed 4wd 5 speed. Thanks to Mike for keeping this great site up and running for all of us all these years!
