3rd Generation Dodge

I have read several threads on removal of the Silencer Ring from the turbo intake. But this seems to be making it sound louder when ramping up for the drivers interest. If you remove the ring, will this increase:* the air intake volume ? * add more HP ? * increase MPG ? * anything besides increasing noise ?Has anyone ever try this and documented what changes happen ? Or is it only to increase the sound of the turbo ramping up ?

Well, p0243 is a wastegate solenoid - is it possible to change it separately from the turbo?

Installed today and I am not impressed Airaid MIT: Better throttle response, quicker turbo spool, better sound

Are these filters just the plastic screen or are they a paper type? Reason I ask is I am doing the first trans oil change and always thought it a waste of time changing the plastic filter (screen) type.

Soon I'll be looking for new brake linings for my truck and wondered if anyone here have tried ceramic brake pads and shoes on their truck. Seeing we can pull one heck of a lot of weight, I'd like to know your opinion. I have installed these on my wife truck, but it's a 1/2 ton an she uses it more like a car with one heck of a big trunk for her shopping trips. The seem to brake better than stock, and last one heck of a lot longer. But what will they do on the Ram HD's with a large load ?

When I set out to buy a truck I didnt plan on finding what I did. She is sharp, been garage kept sence it was new in 05. The guy was totally a neat freak I mean not even a speck of dirt anywhere. A friend called me today and said he knows of a 2003 Ram for sale pretty reasonable...he wanted to know what the issues are with this year truck. I bought a 2002 and when I got it home I noticed the air box wasn't seated correctly and sucked in some dirt. Pulled off the intake tube and there is dirt and grime on the fins and around the housing,any suggestions on how to clean it other than wiping each blade and what about whats behind the turbine, somthing like some carb cleaner?????????Any help would be great!

Do the common rails have the needle roller bearing's on the pilot shaft? I am looking to get a 04 or a 05 and just thinking what I need to replace. A truck with 130k will need a fresh clutch if anything like my 01 was.

I have been toying with the idea of dropping the front of my truck for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 1" spacer from Top Gun Customz this morning. I'll probably install it in the next few weeks when I do a diff/trans/xcase fluid change. I like the 2" level for 2 big reasons, oil pan clearance and a lower tailgate lip. I don't like the 2" when loaded because it takes more air in the bags that I need to keep the level stance, 15 psi this past weekend was barely enough and I had maybe 1200 lbs of cargo/tongue weight, where if the front were 1" lower I could get by with 5-10 psi in the bags. I have already read the 2-3 injector threads posted in here in the past week or so and I think I am screwed.Let me back up a few steps... in the past 2-3 weeks, the truck (2004 QCLB stickshift) has been idling rough right as it starts up. Rough enough that it shakes the truck back & forth. for a while, this would last until the truck got warm. No smoke, no hard-start, just that rough idle.Then I took a 1000-mi highway round trip. I just received an 05 2500 and it has some strange issues, where to start.:banghead:If you step on the throttle in neutral it acts like a sticky cable but we know there is no cable.Throwing codes P0572, P0628, P2509, and P0533. A/C works intermittently, cruise light comes on but speed will not set, seems to smoke a little more than the other one I have.Thanks for any ideas,Dale

Hello .....New to this site. just bought a 97 3500 dually and just love it. got a great deal ..but its lack power due to being all stock. Been searching for a pattern for the P7100 cam plate.

I was wondering if anyone knows the best available fuel filter to use. I sound like to avoid installing a fass system and just use the stock system. Let me know your opinions or suggestions. I don't think the car quest filters I've been using are cutting it.

OK if memory serves me (it normally doesn't ) didn't Dodge/Ram OK the 05 for a after market exhaust brake? I thought you had to get a flash done then you can add it.Don
