Hi Guys, Just came across another Bosch authorized VP44 pump rebuilder - here is the link. http://www3.jasperengines.com/blog/2011/12/02/jasper-remanufactures-vp44-diesel-injection-pumps/ The link shows the actual "diaphragm" that is installed in these pump that fails regularly - so Jasper claim. Anyway, I just thought that this link might be of some interest. Thanks

Today I was heading home from work and when I turn hard left or right the trans acts like it is not in gear, if you let off the throttle and get back on it, it kicks back in. What would cause this? I just put a new rear speed sensor and output sensor on the tail of the trans. i do have a new neutral safety switch to install yet.

Hello all! Ongoing issue with APPS. Truck developed heavy miss between 12 and 1600rpm wether truck is cold or at operating temp. No codes in computer, no CEL. Tested voltage of factory APPS (after trying resetting it) .54-.79, dropped to .51-.59, jumped to 1.02-1.73, dropped 1.51-1.57, jumped 2-2.7 etc. eratic voltage all the way to WOT at 3.81. ok, bad APPS. New timbo APPS installed per instruction, reset everything, started and miss is gone. smooth voltage .68-3.79. drove 1.5 miles and parked for three days. started back up, truck missed and loaped for ten seconds at idle (never happened before). idle cleared up, but same miss is back between 12 and 1600rpm. No CEL…

In 9/2012 my tail pipe rusted out so I had a new tailpipe put on. Now the muffler has rusted out in the front where the resonator connects. The the muffler going in is 4" and coming out is 3"My truck is completely stock and I've only put 4000 miles on it in since 10/2011 So my questions are. What if any advantage is their to delete the muffler and just go 4" from the resonator back. What if any advantage is their to delete the muffler and neck down from 4" at the resonator to 3" that is the stock size of the tailpipe. The muffler shop wants around $250 for the new muffler. Money isn't really the issue here. It's just the fact that I really don't drive the truck that much.

Mike, would you happen to have the lube properties of 50/50 fuel, which was 'cut' with a benzene xylene 'anti cloud/jel' product?

  7. Was looking through Fuel pump options and came across this place. industrialinjection.com They rebuild fuel injection pumps for diesel engines and tout their abilities, as do all companies, however, may be something to it... http://www.industrialinjection.com/shop/category/pumps/dodge-injection-pumps/ Curious if anyone knows of these guys or not, interested about experiences.

it was 'CCd' on the overhead display for awhile. I toggled through the different displays, and finally just turned it off. When I restarted the truck awhile later, all seemed ok.on another matter, truck refused to start 5 days ago, plugged in overnight, and battery charger to boot. I gave up quickly just because I had 3 tractors 'dead' from crap fuel that needed attention first! This morning It got up to 25*, so I tried it! It stumbled to life and within 3 seconds it suddenly was running on all 6 cylinders. Perfectly. Other than 30-40* warmer than last Friday, I didn't do anything different: same fuel…

  10. Well it has come time to rebuild my transmission. Ive recently replaced the governor solenoid and sensor, adjusted bands and replaced filter and fluids. Well now it is not down shifting. The forward band is worn beyond use, and I'm sure that with the shifting issues I've experienced over the last two year that the rest of the internal works are worn just as bad. Ive adjusted bands, changed fluid and filter, adjuster TV cable, replaced solenoid and sensor, and still no improvement. So it is just worn out, closing in on 200,000 miles with a stock tranny, I can't complain. :lol:So I'm doing the Sun Coast M3GA 3 Alto Transmission Kit, Sun COast Triple Disc Torque Converter, …

up here in ND now and we just got super cold weather and now I got number 1 in its been -15 for the past 3 days now and I have a problems of jelling up. I know the tank isn't Jelling up anymore it just when I go driving around I start to jell up and I think it comes from where the airdog is mounted and not getting any heat. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Filters to cold.

  12. 2 weeks ago, had the fuel man out to fill our on-farm storage diesel with 50% #1 and #2 fuel. Thanks to a nice arctic blast, (lows about -10) most of my tractors are 'dead'. geez, another batch of crap came up the pipeline, ALL my neighbors are pulling their hair out too..I have an inline screen before the lift pump, that is easily taken apart and cleaned... It's actually a sprayer suction screen and has about a pint of capacity. It was totally full of slush, I cleaned it out and put in a jug of '911' I hate using it, but hungry cows take precedence!! Today, fuel …

Just got my edge juice w/ attitude CTS installed and was wondering what the safe temp ranges for Trans. and egt's are? Truck is a 2001 3500 24v w/ auto. I could not use the supplied boost elbow either. Will that affect much? Should I be concerned with any other temps?

I then turned around went back home. I got back to shop put it in park and held it at 3000 then went to 3500 RPM ran fine. i then pulled on to road and put it to the floor ran great power was all there then drops to 1000 and back up to 1500 or so take my foo…

Not sure yet there's so much oil and hard to track down exact source even after cleaning 3x. Im starting to lean to the the oil leak is comming out of one of the two rear breathers due to excessive crankpressure (higher HP truck with ppump) . However I'm not sure what to do about it. Already have the 2 breathers. http://blogs.dieselpowermag.com/6817455/whats-new/cummins-vs-crank-case-pressure/ I've heard that a vacuum leak or turbo seal leak can cause that. Doubt its turbo as its new ...... Any ideas of input into this one. How to test vacuum leak/drawdown ...... and what do do about reducing oil leak. There is 0 blowby from the front oil collector at front, 0 blowby …

Hey guys, Now I know iv'e been over this particular topic before but iv'e come to view some new info regarding lift pumps well new to me anyway lol. So I was vewing some threads on here and came across the Assassin lift pump, and read that these pumps actually increase pressure with RPM's which of course I really liked that, and the fact that there a mechanical pump. Also during my discovery i read that in order to install this pump you have to replace the draw straw. Is this something that absolutly has to be done with this style of pump? My original choice was a Raptor 100 but also viewing some threads on here I discovered that the new owners of AirDog F..... them up so…

I have an 01 cummins, the other day while driving 75 with the cruise on, my truck started to hesitate and jerk a bit. The truck then had a dead pedal and engine light came on and threw a bunch of codes. I had it towed back to a shop. The next day I went to see if I could figure any of it out. I changed the APP sensor and calibrated it to between .50v and .60v like the instructions told me. I still get dead pedal while driving and my coolant gauge goes all the way in the red when the dead pedal happens. I switched out the ECM with a spare one out of another truck in the shop and its doing the same exact thing like my old one. Im told I have an electrical problem but…

New to me 2000 dodge ram with ppump conversion. Let the games begin. :lol:Got home from holidays. Truck wouldn't turn. Noticed batteries seemed dead . 10.6 V. Charged them up .... primary is holding 12.6 and secondary 11.8 (might have to replace). However truck will not turn at all.Checked the starter was getting 12V at the main terminal (large wire).Switched relays for starter around ....... no difference.Don't think it can be the fuel shutoff solenoid - as it would still crank wouldnt it just not start. So thinking I bumped something on the starter or something around that ........ideas ??

Seals? Washers?-solenoids are new -new filter and fluid obviously-shift kit -possibly billet servos-pan with a plugThanks
